Re: What are your thoughts on the F1 2022 regulation changes?
My only complaint about the 2022 regs is that the cars are not allowed to have side skirts to seal the car to the track (brushes, that is). Brush side skirts are not "movable" devices, in that the assembly doesn't move, only the brushes bend under downforce load. Allowing skirt seals would minimize ...

Re: Do red bull have a max verstappen problem.
Drivers are a dime a dozen. Access to the best F1 cars are reserved to those skilled drivers who respect the opportunity given to them... and demonstrate that respect by following orders. This is not the first, second, or even third time that VER has refused team orders. He does not respect the team...

Re: Do red bull have a max verstappen problem.
I see today's news that RB have hired Daniel Ricciardo as their reserve driver. That's a great move. It means that RB can now fire Max Verstappen and have a competitive driver to fill the vacant seat. Just to put a fine point on this... Through the years, this has been demonstrated over and over at Interlagos... If you are not cleanly ahead entering turn one, you will not be clearly ahead entering turn two. I think this situation won't hurt Red Bull at all, but it sure as hell could come back to bite Max in future. I wonder how Christian Horner and team feel, knowing that they work for Max Verstappen. Championship or not, drivers work for teams, not the other way around. I'm sure VER's contract specif...

The only time my 4.5lb (2kg) hybrid tries to bite me is when I shave his tires. I thought he might like the extra performance, since he hates thunderstorms and doesn't like getting his boots wet. He doesn't like tire covers either.

Well, Sergio Perez wins the Singapore GP. What a boring race, finishing on the two-hour clock, as it almost always does (only 59 laps finished). Here's an idea... Let's make all race weekends "Sprints". No need for a race at all. Let's see if the spectators will buy that.
They already have split weekend races at some Indycar venues (half races both days). Yea, let's be more like Indycar?

I don't mind any of the graphics, except for driver radio text, which is too small to read. The radio transmissions are not very good in most cases, so (a bit) larger text would be helpful.
I don't like hearing the crowd boo any driver, real or contrived/edited.

Magic Number for Penalties In Future?
For the second race in a row, the starting grid has been massively shuffled at Monza, due to engine component penalties. The current rule allows for up to 3 power units, transmissions, various accessories, yadda yadda. Frankly, I am tired of watching qualification performance on merit being overwrit...

One takes their Racing movies when and where you can find then... There aren't many. So I resist being too critical.
I liked Rush, including Chris Hemsworth's Hunt, and Daniel Bruhl's Lauda. I didn't notice the lack of newly filmed footage, which to me means it was done well.

Actually, I thought the track was fine (and have no opinion on the suitable Miami debate). I'm thinking porpoising will be less of an issue at Imola. Shorter straights where the bumpiness can build. And narrower track, negating side-by-side racing as cars trace a common line.

I remarked last year how the outlined numbers on the Mercedes car engine covers were impossible to read on the cars at speed.
Now, the #1 on Verstappen's car is so wide, it doesn't look like a number at all (at speed).

Count me in the GOM Club. I remember when F1 was a creative sport, permitting out-of-the-box thinking and car design, such as the original turbo era, fan cars, ground effect skirts, six-wheel cars, 24" round dinner plates for a front wing, etc. Everything is regulated to the millimeter, today. No se...

Something's wrong when the pre-race TV coverage lasts longer than the race itself.
I've recorded every F1 race since 1982, but Liberty Media is mistaken if they think I watch the pre-race tripe.

Re: Aero changes a success?
To me an assessment of the aero changes is not about DRS, but more importantly, about the porpoising, instead. Bring back the side skirts to seal the airflow. Then you will be able to see the bouncing under control. Only with the bouncing under control will you be able to assess the need for DRS.
