Another way to create overtaking would be to cut the power of each car by 10 seconds per lap.
Less air pollution, less noise pollution. The driver has to choose the places he can defend the best.
They might have to stop allowing drivers to shove an overtaking driver off the track.

Let's not underestimate the skill level of overtaking by pressing a button.
We are assured that it will be "spectacular".

Wolff deciding to keep the same driver pairing for 2021 would suggest that he is confident Mercedes will maintain enough of an advantage with the car to win the 2 Championships easily again in 2021.

Re: Predict the next World Champion
In 2021, Bottas is the most likely, as he beat Verstappen in 2020 in similar cars to the 2021 cars.
With Wolff confirming Bottas, that suggests that they expect to sign Hamilton. So Bottas would need some misfortune to befall Hamilton if Bottas is to become World Champion.

Re: 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix Race Thread
Some of the Bottas slating is going too far. Yes, today looks a bit embarrassing. At worst he's a top 10 F1 driver. We also can't have it both ways. Russell and Can't be brilliant and Bottas be a total scrub. The fact that Bottas is a good F1 driver is what makes Russell's performance so exciting. ...

Well done on the forecasts - the top 2 forecasts were correct. So Russel was comfortably leading the race until the first pit stop and didn't lose any positions by his fault. The next question is how well will Russell do when he is more comfortable (size-wise) in the car and has time to find out how...

When Salo was brought in to replace Schumacher and was winning the race, he was told to give the victory to Irvine. Mercedes have nothing to gain by putting a driver in the car who can clearly beat Bottas, so it's unlikely that will happen. I'd like to see them put the best driver they can get into ...

A good interview of Lewis Hamilton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOHIPmon91o He's always been a top driver on the track. Unfortunately Verstappen and Hamilton are not driving the same car on equal terms. That is one of the many things that is wrong with F1. It was better in the old days, when the drivers did not have lots of aids and their performance was more dependent on themselves. Normally aspirated engines, suspe...

Crazy idea. Maybe the stewards could enforce track limits on the full length of each track, in all sessions- with discretion used where extraordinary circumstances are present. I otherwise don’t know why they both marking track boundaries and referencing them in documentation. There are 2 different...

I think there should be a maximum lap time allowed- both for outlaps and another for cooldown laps. Maybe a 120% of a time derived from P1-P3 stats. That seems sensible. It would need to be introduced before a season started, as it may affect the way Pirelli would design their softest tyre. Apart f...

May be a silly/unworkable idea what about a screen at the top of Raidillon for the drivers which shows real time footage of the top of the hill. Raidillon has been permanently modified before (at least, the runoff has) due to major accidents. I believe Luciano Burti skating over the gravel there and burying himself in the tyres had a lot to do with that. That wasn't at the Raidillon Tufty, but at the entry to Blanchimont. Its the logical result. Bottas is a good No. 2 driver - and not going to challenge Hamilton. It is only a good decision if Merc produces another fairly dominant car imo.
