So in a season that has the potential for plenty of "firsts" what will we actually see first.

Hamilton for me. Yas Marina has always been a good track for him. On top of that he was 0.4 up on the time before his car broke on his final flying lap. His biggest issues have been in races where his tires just crap out easily during overtaking. The tires seems a bit more durable than usual this we...

Re: So does FoM really want to kill the sport?
To clarify a statement that seems to have gotten a few comments. I wont say that we shouldn't have/don't need artificial enhancement. I just don't believe that what we have in DRS and the degrading tires are the way to go. I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm saying they didn't get it right. In addi...

So does FoM really want to kill the sport?
Would love to have some insight into this. Lets start off with the financial state of F1. We are currently on the verge of having three if not more teams about of go belly up. We all know Lotus and Sauber are wickedly behind on their bills. Some reports have them each in the whole well over $100 mil...

I voted the three engine works teams. Seems a safe bet. McLaren also doesn't have a great driver at the moment.

Re: An observation
I think F1yer is referring to the LH line took through Eau Rouge(?). They showed a replay on my broadcast, and the commentators said LH missed his line, and that was what allowed SV to pass. How would that have had any effect on the outcome of that 1st lap? If you look at the sector times and the s...

Hamilton made a mistake otherwise we could have seen a very different result. Care to explain the thinking in this? Basically this is the type of opinion I can't understand. No amount of perfect driving can equal a 2 second gap after the 1st lap. All you could do is block to the point of destroying...

Personally I think they should make ALL runoff area some surface that ,while safe, just makes your car stuck so bad it isn't moving. Give 2ft of a surface that slows you badly and then something that is worse than gravel. That would make for interesting racing! The reliability issue sucks from the p...

I give it to Vergne by a small margin to be honest. I just find him a more consistent driver. Good race pace as well. I would be curious if he were to finish the season with double or more points above Ricciardo. Then what does Red Bull do?

Re: Will Spa tell us everything about the rest of the season
In a sense, Spa is the start to the second half of the season, it is like a fresh start since all teams have had a month to refine and develop their cars. But this period of time is where they have the opportunity to fully digest the data from the YDT test and refine their cars. Mercedes have out-p...

How this isn't a 100% for Vettel is beyond me. He set the fastest time but sessions and had comments like "It is nice to be able to play around with the car". That to me says he can still go MUCH faster. Also, we know Mercedes don't do well in the heat. If they don't set up their car to minimize the...

So as terrible as this is. If Sauber folds before the season ends does that mean Marussia will survive, much to the chagrin of Bernie? 10th place pays. His words. Now if Sauber fold and still have points will they be awarded the cash even if they can't finish the season? It would breach the concord ...

I really hope they stay in front of McLaren. Force India has been my favourite team for a few years now. It would be so amazing to see them finally finish in front of a "big" team. I chose Force India, Mercedes and Ferrari. I would have preferred Toro Rosso over Ferrari as my 3rd choice though. I don't really agree that Canada was dull at all. Vettel's romp to victory aside. Look beyond who was in the lead and I feel it was quite eventful. It was arguable the first race of the year that cars were racing flat out the entire time from lights to flag. It was good to see Lewis back on form and...

I sat at the exit of the hairpin. The Ferrari did seem more harsh to me. The Mercedes were very quiet compared to the rest. Same with the Marussia to an extent. Also, the Caterham would backfire (I assume that was what it was doing) more often than not once getting on the power. Those were the bigge...

If they are smart they will. If they do not have race pace again and don't allow one driver to gain a lead the first faster car to pit behind them into clean air will just jump them in the pits. Ferrari is looking very fast yet again. Their race pace is the best on the grid. Given the amazing starts...

I look forward to the Monaco GP less and less each time I watch it. Bit by bit the unique nature of the track gets lost on me. Lost in the boring racing.
