Re: Race weekend format
Let's have the drivers get acquainted with the circuit by replacing the friday practice with a F3 race. :D There used to be a Champcar driver who would rollerblade around the track in the mornings before practice to familiarise himself. Maybe F1 can adopt this and have a Rollerderby side series? I ...

Re: Stewart: Hamilton not at the level of Fangio etc
I don't think Stewart has a valid point, and I'm not sure he particularly likes Hamilton. Stewart might try, but you can't compare the modern and classic era's, whilst the fundamentals are still the same, it's almost a completely different sport. Fangio raced in an era where pushing the car to limi...

Re: Honda to quit F1 after 2021
Indy and NASCAR regularly match F1 for top speed and all three all left eating the dust of American dragster racing. I don't think Bathurst cars are far off eithger. Electric wouldn't effect the cornering speeds, which is where F1 leaves other series far behind, and everyone knows the acceleration/...

Re: Honda to quit F1 after 2021
What worries me more is the message this is sending out about manufacturer support in F1. If Honda are genuinely just saying the relevance doesn't justify the investment , what does that signify for F1 as a whole where on the other hand you have such significant manufacturer involvement in FE. This...

Re: Honda to quit F1 after 2021
I’ve been predicting for a few years now that FE and F1 will eventually merge and form 1 series, carry over the history of both sports up until the merger.
Each series has something the other needs. I still stand by this prediction, and think this has become the next piece to fall into the puzzle

Re: Could next year be Vettel's final nail in the coffin?
Seems to be a bunch of folks wondering if Team Red is giving Seb the same kind of car they are providing to Charles. When a driver is on his way out of a team, certain things begin to happen. He is barred from technical briefings, so that he may not carry any new "secrets" to any other team. Thus, ...

I, however, could not be further from being in agreement. What you're suggesting is a regressive retro championship, not anything to do with Formula 1. There is no performance advantage to using a clutch and an H-pattern shifter; exactly the opposite. It's for enthusiasts who love the feel, not for...

I became a fan of F1 via Champcars. I was a huge Champcar fan in the mid-90's, particularly Target/Chip Ganassi Racing. I don't have an in-principle objection to reverse grids, but I don't think they belong in Formula 1. To me, a Grand Prix should be a single, highly significant motor race -- one per country, and certainly no more than one per weekend. I think we already have too many Grands Prix. Yeah reverse grids are a no for me. In all of the series I’ve watched that toyed with reverse grids, one theme keeps coming up, which is cost. Reverse grids tend to result in more crashes, which means more money spent on parts and repairs. The sport can’t talk about cost savings, while on the other ...
