He was never great to begin with. Right car right time. Nearly anyone in the Braun that year would have been champ. Most of his wins at Merc were in wet or changing conditions as well. Not impressed.

Re: Double points for season finale from next year
If they want to award double points to keep interest further into the season they need to do it for the last 3 or 4 races to keep it some what fair. A one shot deal seems crazy. Maybe in 2015 the top 2 drivers in the standings at the end of the season win flip a coin to see who is the champion.

Re: Will Vettel beat.....
Well lets do the math, lets assume he is in F1 til the age of 37 (same as Mark) That gives him 11 years left. he needs 53 wins to beat Schumacher's record. That translates into an average of 4.8 wins a season, how many drivers have had equipment that good in every season they compete for 11 years? ...

Any US fans having hard time finding Qualifying??
Are any of you US fans having a hard time finding Live Qualifying? I have Comcast and it shows Qualifying on at Sunday at 12AM but it looks like it’s supposed to be on Saturday morning at 8AM. Is it on an alternate channel? I've looked at NBCsports and comcasts listings but nothing.

Most Americans are into the big 3 Football, baseball and basketball.
I rather like the time difference. I DVR the races wake up and watch them early and go about my day. I dislike having to watch the US and Brazilian GPs at noon. I feel it wastes my day.

I agree. Sillyraceman wrote:It makes absolutely no sense to add absolute differences in lap times for different tracks. This is a meaningless number. Much of what you've written is rather meaningless.Peter77 wrote:That means up against Kubica vettel would have been 1.2 seconds slower most probably.

Re: Monaco Great, Canada Dull
I'm of the exact opposite opinion - Monaco was dump and Canada was a 'proper' F1 race. I don't care so much about crazy-ass overtaking, such as Perez in Monaco. If i want to see hectic wheel-to-wheel racing i'll watch touring cars or the junior open-wheeler formula such as F3. What i like to see mo...

I wouldnt. I find him to be way overated. He was lucky to be in the Brawn when he won the championship. Most of his good drives in the mclaren have been in changing weather conditions where he seemed to make a correct tire choice at the right time.

Re: In total support of Vettel
I don't see what all the fuss is about. Vettel is the #1 on the Team. Mark is never going to win an F1 championship. If Mark can't except this and wants an equal opportunity he should go race for Caterham or Marussia. Vettel's first and third championships were won by just a few points, he knows the...

had he stayed, he would have had 07 & 08 titles. Hasn't Ferrari wanted to field 3 cars in the past? If so why are they so dead set on having a number 1? I like the Idea of backing a certain driver on a team if he's leading the championship. I don't like the idea so much of having a submissive number 2 driver.

Exactly, Snake. The series is going to an engine with 100 LESS BHP. If they don't chop the downforce along with it, the cars will be so much easier to drive. Reducing power AGAIN really doesn't seem to accomplish anything in my eyes. Dumb, dumb, dumb. I'm with you, this is supposed to to be the pin...
