Well, I was half asleep for some of quali and totally asleep for most of it but I thought I heard one expert saying that an understeery car was the slowest way around and that the best drivers always got more out of a car that was pointy and on the limit of oversteer power sliding slip.

I'm not sure why you're making what I said into something else. His contract stipulates that they must discuss it with him. When he has that information, he can make an informed decision which could be to offer the team advice, complain that they're making bad choices, congratulate them, thank them...

Isn't this an idea that Bernie seriously proposed a few years back? It was panned then and I think it's still just as ridiculous now.

F1 has such a problem with rain affected races, they should be finding ways to drain and dry the track, not how to wet it.
