Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

If you’re going to criticise Ricciardo for his performances vs Kvyat and Vergne then that doesn’t look good on Vettel considering how convincingly Ricciardo beat him. Indeed it does not. But when all is said and done in 20 or 30 years time, Vettel's name will go down as a 4 time world champion and ...

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

Russell in the Merc might say what about me? :) Yes and he might upset (an ageing) Hamilton. Hopefully he will get the call up in 2022. Hopefully this is the case, but going forwards, how much will Mercedes be committed to F1? Russell may be the victim of being at the right team but at the wrong ti...

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

We'll see how good Charles is fighting at the front when he is toe to toe against Verstappen. From what I've seen he seems very entitled and a bit of a whinger when things aren't going his way. The jury is still out as far as I am concerned. As of his second year in F1, those two things would have ...

Re: Could DAS have caused the tyre failures

No. Sainz's McLaren suffered the EXACT same fate in the exact same way and they don't have DAS on their car. Looking at the footage closely, this is similar to how the world trade towers collapsed. Heat eventually weakened the structural makeup of the tire until it de-laminated and imploded. Nothin...

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

I like his personality and he's fun in the press conferences but Ricciardo and Leclerc have shown up Vettel for how good a driver he really is. I certainly would not swap him for Perez, who I rate much higher. Vettel is a four time world champion because he was basically in the fastest car and just...

29 degrees celcius forecast for Barcelona. Track temperatures may be well into the 40C's. Mercedes may have cheese tyres again.

Re: Murray Walker Puts Neck out there: HAM v SCH v SEN

Hamilton's ability to turn weaknesses into strengths is very impressive. He's a completely different driver now than the one that made hard work of the 2008 championship. He used to be very aggressive and was the guy who would try for an overtake or make a risky move no matter what. Now he has deve...

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

It's rumoured this week Vettel will be announced as a driver for AM. The announcement was delayed due to being courteous for Checo was he was positive for Covid 19. Racing Point could also become toxic for Perez too, much like Ferrari is for Vettel. The management don't want Perez and even though t...

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

Vettel is ironically being 'Webbered' at Ferrari. He looks a broken driver, but I still think a happy Seb is a fast Seb - he could well relish a fresh environment. Indeed. You don't win 4 championships by accident or by lacking speed. He's still in his physical prime and in the right environment co...

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

At the end of last year, Vettel and Charles were quite closely matched. There was only 24 points between them but Vettel scored in less races. The qualifying wasn't a whitewash either. Obviously something has happened since then - political I assume - where it has made Vettel feel persona non grata...

Re: Is Mercedes unbeatable?

Let’s be honest, we all know that this was just an anomaly, like Malaysia 2015. You can bump this thread when someone other than Mercedes wins a world title. Mercedes are pretty fortunate to have more wins than Red Bull this season tbf. Or Red Bull are fortunate that they are given race winning opp...

Re: Is Mercedes unbeatable?

Hi guys, long time lurker but first time poster on here. Please be gentle with me :) Look how much political instability there has been at Ferrari since the hybrid era - firing managers and team principals, chopping and changing staff, letting go of key people - while Mercedes have just been rock so...
