We dont need a report to know that if there is under representation of black. And mixed race people. It starts with education. And if these said black and mixed race people actually want to get into the sport there shouldn't be any extra pressure put on this. Let's put it like this. If said black A...

Re: 2021 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread

Having had a couple of days to mull over, a few thoughts. Firstly, that was a lot more entertaining, well except Max sprinting to the finish. Lando, also, has really stepped up a level. I'm really impressed with what I'm seeing this year from Max, not something I thought id be saying - his maturity ...

Re: Who is performing better in 2021, Norris or Verstappen?

I think Max is driving right at the top of his game, that along with the obvious growth in his maturity - I’d say it has to be Max right now. Lando, however has shown a similar growth and uptick in speed but done so in a shorter space of time - let’s see where he is by the end of the season, but if ...

Re: 2021 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread

Finding it almost unbelievable that anyone would think Norris, and subsequently Perez, deserved a penalty for the turn 4 offs. When trying to overtake around the outside you take the risk and often it doesn’t work, what is the driver on the inside expected to do - just stop and let them past. The on...

As much as I didn’t think he had the capacity to do so, Max is really delivering a mature performance this season. I don’t think anyone could have ever doubted his speed, but he is now showing so much more. Before the season started I had this down as Lewis’s championship, not because he had the raw...

Re: 2021 French Grand Prix Race Thread

Everyone seems to be focusing on the 1 stop vs 2 stop strategy, but Merc lost it for Hamilton by pitting Valteri first, and then waiting 3 laps to pit Lewis was unforgivable. Had they pitted Lewis immediately after Max, in all likelihood Lewis would have remained in front - what would have happened ...

Mercedes need to be thinking about succession planning, Bottas - whilst a solid and on his day fast driver - is not a team leader, just not at that level. I really think they need to get George in now, along with Lewis, and think about the next 6 years or so.

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Portugal 2021

All very easy like you say, but as vettel started in the top 10 and Stroll out of q1 and he still managed to finish ahead, I don't really know how Vettel was vetter overall. Stroll managed a 40 lap stint on softs and made that work - and he finished ahead. Yeah, I might have been a bit generous wit...

Pretty much where they all finished in the race this week, with the exception of Vettel - I think he performed a bit better this week and better than Stroll (just). Hamilton bar the restart was clearly faster than Bottas Max is at a different level to Perez, and don't see that changing Norris easily...

I'm hoping it's just a settling in thing, I highly rate Danny - but the body language in and out of the car just doesn't look right. Also have to say Norris has even upped his game on last year, really looking good.

Not sure where all the Alonso love is coming from, he was beaten by Ocon who hasn't really shined. Because Alonso qualified significantly lower and made a lot of race gains. Even at that, he jumped from 13th to 7th due to everyone else pitting, and was back to 11th on his pit stop. He then managed ...

Re: 2021 Portugal Grand Prix Race Thread

I feel that Perez was left out to dry by the team a little, he was on those mediums for 3/4 of the race., whilst Bottas was on used hards at the half way point. I think there was an option the get Perez onto softs about 5 to 10 laps earlier than they did in an attempt hunt down Bottas but they left ...

Re: Proposed Sprint Race weekend simple Poll

Is the fear of the Sprint Race, that it might outshine the main event - free race with no artificial limits (like must use two tyre types) so should be flat out from start to finish. Another plus - it gets rid of the need to start the race on the Q2 tyre - what utter nonsense that is. In saying that...

Not Russell’s best weekend, he overreacted and touched the grass. It does, however, beg the question of Bottas yet again - why was he back fighting a Williams and not up front against the Red Bulls. All in all another good race, Max surprising me with his maturity - I really didn’t think he’d step u...
