Re: The Official Football Thread
They are entirely separate incidents and to be judged on their own merit. The only incident that can really be compared is the Defoe one, where he bit a player. He was given a yellow and nothing more because of the ridiculous FA rule of not changing a referee's punishment after he's dished it out. B...

I know everyone's talking about the Bayern-Barca game, but you're all missing the big match from last night: Blackburn 2 - 1 Millwall. 1. Gutierrez

3. Van der Garde
I don't think it can be any other drivers, really. Just a case of who is considered the worst.

Re: DRS do we need it?
Yeah, essentially. I haven't thought it through entirely, but the basic idea would be as you said - you get to have a go with the aid of DRS, but if you can't do it, you don't get to use DRS for a few laps. It gives drivers more reason to try to defend when their tyres are shot too, which would make...

Re: 2014 Silly Season Thread
Well, given it's a prediction/silly thread... Red Bull and Ferrari swap #2's - Webber joins his buddy Fernando at Ferrari and Massa plays second-fiddle to Vettel with a smile on his face. Lotus retain Kimi, but drop Romain. Paul Di Resta joins Kimi at Lotus. Force India replace PDR with Jules Bianch...

Re: Arguments about f1
My parents were invited to dinner at our house on Sunday... Under strict instructions not to turn up until after 4pm! My Dad is a biased Jenson fan (like he was with Damon Hill), whereas I am a Kimi/Lewis and Lotus/Merc fan (I always support the team my favourite drivers are at). Our opinions differ...

Re: DRS do we need it?
I wouldn't mind a limit on the number of times the DRS canbe used, but slightly differently to the original poster's idea. I would like to see a limit on the number of chances given to a driver to overtake the car ahead. What I mean is this: Alonso is behind Vettel, within 1sec. He gets to the DRS z...

I think it's sensible. They know what they're getting, after all.
The big question for me is whether or not this means Marussia will be supplied by Ferrari next year - provided they can hang on to Bianchi, of course.

Re: Best Formula 1 driver ever?
For me, it's Schumacher. I am a Schumi fan so I know it's easy to be biased towards him, but I think there are a lot of reasons why he is the greatest. He is obviously known for his fitness, determination and his ability to get people around him that could create the car that he envisioned. I think ...

Re: When did F1 become an economy run?
I think part of the problem is that teams will see where they qualify, then aim for a position to finish in, rather than go for the win. For example: Lewis Hamilton qualifies 6th on the grid. Mercedes then work out all of their technical strategies on tyres, fuel, etc., and aim for a position to fin...

Talking about Alonso and luck - he's lucky to be alive after Grosjean almost took his head off last season. Slightly off-topic, I know, but that's luck in itself, I think.

Re: When will the Law of Averages catch up with Vettel?
I don't know about that so much, but I think when he moves to another team (I can't imagine him staying at Red Bull forever), I think it will prove just how much having a dominant car has helped him. I expect him to replace Fernando at Ferrari at some point, and I think it will kick up a huge debate...

Re: New Member introduction thread
Hi everyone. I've been an F1 fan since 1994, with the first race I remember watching being that fateful race in Imola (I don't remember that much, really - I was only 9 - but I remember seeing the overhead shots after the crash). I have always been a Schumacher fan. It started off because my Dad was...
