Re: 2013 Monaco GP Race Thread!
Nah it would have been stupid to risk it however his rant about purists is bs. He says about people moaning about drs etc. People aren't moaning because of the lack of overtaking its the crap track. When you have a circuit where you can't overtake and running 2 -3 secs slower its not racing. But th...

Re: Safety car rules drive me nuts
No, the SC was deployed first for the Massa wreck. It took 3 laps for the medical car to make it to the Massa wreck. Now, that is entirely too slow and 1 of 2 things happened. The corner workers didnt let the race control know that Massa needed help or the fact that the medical car had to wait until...

Perhaps you havent watched much F1 over the years I guess. Where is the reward for going for the win? Watching since the 1970's ... you? The reward is 1st place. http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2013/898/7215/fastest_laps.html Well, points are points. It doesnt matter if its 25 or 18. As long...

Re: Safety car rules drive me nuts
The medical wagon was in turn 1 tending to Massa after the second safety car lap. Why it took two laps for the wagon to make it what seems a few hundred meters up the track is a little crazy to me.

You have a strange outlook on "racing". Perhaps it would be better than if they only qualified and nixed the race for fear of loosing points  Perhaps you havent watched much F1 over the years I guess. Anytime you can get points its a bonus. RBR KNEW they had 2nd and 3rd locked up. Where is the...

Re: 2013 Monaco GP Race Thread!
Vettel admitted that he was driving for points only today. With a couple of laps left he posted a lap 2 seconds faster than Nico's best then backed off for a 2nd position ... not good. Of course he was running for points. 18 is more than zero. Plus Alonso was running very poor and Kimi was stuck in...

I have no idea why it can't be like a regular racing series and just pick up the leaders. Allowing pit stops once the safety car is deployed should be banned.

Re: 2013 Monaco GP Race Thread!
Taking care of tires? 32 laps on the super soft twice? Wtf? I guess some of you guys want them to go 60 laps with zero fall off. As far as passing, it's more on the fault of the drivers. Both FI drivers made passes stick and did it in three different places. It shows you can pass but it just takes p...

Anyone else getting the feeling that Flyboy is getting a little chuckle out of how many times he can ask the same question and get the same answer (relative). I'm actually chuckling more at the number of different answers I'm getting to the same question. Who'd have thought so many people with an i...

Well, they are comfortable but Im a large guy. Im 6'5 and 220lbs (a stupid XXL or XXXL in most cycling stuff) so it might be different for other guys. But a truly great explanation wouldn't have me working so hard to understand it, surely! The point about removing friction isn't about needing it there to make the car move. It's about showing that the engine can do the same thing in all the gears (if that's what it shows) and that friction is one ...

Re: How do you feel about the Vettel/Alonso Rivalry
A lot will dismiss Vettel's success, which is a shame... as he's only the third driver to achieve what he did in F1, i.e. 3 titles in a row. Worse still, as Balibari pointed out, sooner or later, people will chalk it down to Newey. Nevermind the fact that Senna/ Prost/ Michael won most of their rac...

The best part of Hamilton's helmet is the fact that Nicole's hand is just on the windshield. There is no arm connecting it to her body. D'oh!! Don't worry, she won't damage anything - she's 'armless. Well, if you are a McLaren fan I wouldnt be too excited about it. One of the things that used to fascinate me about F1 was seeing drivers on the edge of performance, going hell for leather and pushing the car to the edge of grip. You had many drivers spinning on dry tracks, going off on their own etc. Now, if I see a driver going off the track I assume that is be...

Fast laps, lol. If you've been watching F1 this year you would realise that succeeding in F1 is not down to delivering fast laps anymore. Is about tyre and race management which PDR is extremely good at. Except the fact that Sutil was faster on more laps as well. I fail to see why you keep ignoring...

So where are the points? The Mercs were faster than the Ferraris too, but they also dont get points. It is not about who can make the car go fastest, its about racing. Sutil hasnt finished two out of five races. One he was hit by Gut and another the wheel nut system failed. Re: What causes high tyre degradation ?
I honestly think it has to do with heat cycles. If you noticed that Hamilton would push hard for a few laps and then be forced to back off as he cooked the tires. Then, he went after it again and once again they got hot. Lots of other drivers had a pretty level drop off time.

Where is Alonso's onboard from the race today? What about Perez and Button from the last race? You can pick and choose as much as want but the racing is pretty damn decent today.
