Re: The Lewis Hamilton appreciation thread (official)
I think a lot of people would agree that Lewis has the better pace, but "points mean prizes". If Lewis cannot eliminate the incidents and has the odd "off day" as well, Button will be giving him another run for his money in 2012. This year is going to be a defining one for Lewis, IMHO, one way or t...

Re: The year of the driver??
I certainly hope that the OP is right but my experience tells me that there will still be cars that are better than the others. The best we can hope for is that there are 2 or 3 teams with cars that are roughly on par with each other instead of one team setting the pole in every single race.

Re: Official Rally Thread
WRC 2012? Let me spoil the ending for you. Loeb wins. He wins every year. Don't you realize that by now? Hey, whats with the hate for the WRC? The skill of the drivers is equal to that of F1 (even though it is a very different skill set). The WRC is sometimes more exciting to watch IMO, (when the T...

Re: feeder series 2012 line ups and potential champ
I don't follow GP2 much, but obviously I'm rooting for the Americans in FR3.5 (Rossi and Rosenzweig). I think Rossi should do great as it's his 2nd year and he was 3rd last year. Yeah I'll be rooting for Rossi too. He's the first legit American F1 prospect in ages. I really think winning the series...

Re: Hamilton vs Button 2012 (Championship Edition)
Well there seems to be a lot of predictably nasty arguments in here. Why not just keep it simple. In 2010, Lewis beat Jenson. In 2011, Jenson beat Lewis. That makes this season the rubber match.
My prediction is that Lewis will win.

Re: Hamilton vs Button 2012 (Championship Edition)
I look for Hamilton to beat Jenson this season. Last year was a low point for Lewis but I think this year will be different. He is the quicker of the two and if he can stay out of trouble, I think he should win out. I also believe that McLaren might not be in such a chasing position this year. That ...

Re: DC thinks MOnaco may help Lewis!
Lewis doesn't need to move. He just needs to avoid crashes, mechanical failures and race stewards.

Re: Win Or Else Bye Bye Domenicali?
Teams such as Ferrari that are considered an "elite" team just have absurd standards for bosses. I'm a FC Bayern fan, God knows how many managers we have had over the last 5-6 years, and it seems like this year we'll sack again because nothing is a substitute for 1st. I like Domenicali, but even I ...

Re: Official Robert Kubica support thread
I'm happy that he has recovered his health and is regaining the use of his arm but, to be honest, it would surprise me if he ever participates in another F1 race. I just think that the damage has been too severe to recover to full capacity and you need t be at 100% full capacity if you want to race ...

Re: 6 World Champions on the grid, but HOW do you rate them?
If you're asking me how I think people will regard them 20 years from now when they are all retired, I would say: 1. Lewis Hamilton-I think he's the most talented of the bunch and I think McLaren is about to enter a period of strength 2. Michael Schumacher-His legacy has already been established and...

Re: Manual gearbox
You know what's sad? Manual transmissions are slowly disappearing from the automotive world altogether. Most cars that come out these days do not have manual transmissions anymore. Hell, even sports cars use those paddle-shift autos now more often than not. You can no longer buy a Ferrari with a man...

Last time I checked, SD is not the technical director. He doesn't design the cars. They definitely might need some new technical leadership but the team principal has done a decent job in my opinion.
If you want him fired, who do you think should replace him?

Re: Bernie has said he wants 25 races?
I like the 20 race maximum. I don't want F1 to turn into NASCAR (where each race means very little). Personally, I prefer a 16-18 race schedule.

Re: The Official McLaren MP4-27 Thread!
The car looks great and pre-season testing has gone better than it has in years. I think the first few races will give us a good idea of what type of season McLaren is going to have. By using a different nose concept, they have possibly put themselves in a different league from the other teams. They...

Re: Vettel/Red Bull-Reanult's 2011 superiority exaggerated
Well 18 pole positions in 19 races sort of speaks for itself. It was definitely the package to have last year but you have to give Vettel credit for making very few mistakes and for comprehensively dominating the guy with the same car.

Re: The Lewis Hamilton appreciation thread (official)
Wow! It's been a while since I've posted in the forum. Life has gotten a lot more hectic for me. Besides, Vettel basically wrapped up the championship half way through the season last year. I am excited for this season though. I think last year was a definite low-point for Lewis but in my opinion, h...
