Re: Lewis Hamilton 6xWDC - Congratulations are in order
F1 indeed is a fickle sport, all you need to do is go back to the end of '12 and '13 and read what this same people said about Vettel also fast forward 5 years and maybe then Max is a 3x champ and watch the he is better than Senna accolades roll out! Also congrats to Hamilton on his achievements. I...

Nah, Hamilton is still blindingly fast over a single lap as well as complete race distances. Hasn't lost a step. the Mercedes this year seems to be difficult to set up just how he prefers on most weekends and he's still managed to snatch pole from the clutches of the Ferraris as well as race wins. ...

^^Invade^^ Some very high praise there indeed. I have to agree with you overall that it is much easier to put someone's career in proper perspective after it is over. With that said, the most universally reasonable comment in your post comes (surprisingly) from Martin Brundle, when he says that "the...

They may be busy and there's nout wrong with that. I just remember race weekends, especially ones where the title could be won, being frantically busy on here. It was merely an observation. Honestly I'd like to see both Crofty and Brundle replaced for different reasons. Croft for his incompetence and lack of focus and Brundle for the fact that his views fail to evolve with current events. The broadcast is in need of fresh blood.

Re: Paul di Resta and Lewis Hamilton
So, if I have read this correctly, we have two pages of discussion as to whether Paul di Resta heaped enough praise on Lewis? Even though it has been accepted that diResta was quite decent in his praise of Lewis after the clinching, we are to ignore that and go back further where, perhaps, he wasn'...

Re: Albon in, Gasly out
How close would you say Ericsson was to Verstappen ? I think it would be much easier to look good against one than the other. He killed Ericsson, in some races he was way ahead of him. I wouldn't say so. For the main part Ericsson matched him in the first part of the season and then Leclerc pulled ...

Re: Lewis Hamilton 6xWDC - Congratulations are in order
Yes Congrats are in order. Another outstanding season in a legendary career. It's also amazing to consider that, in the last 20 F1 seasons, either Hamilton, Vettel or Schumacher have been WDC 15 times! That's 75% of the titles going to 3 guys over a 2 decade time period! Not sure you'll ever see tha...

And yet race threads get locked within a week or so  So whats that go to do with this thread? Not a lot. If you pay attention and have some capacity to read between the lines, there are several people around F1 who do not like Hamilton and basically try to take subversive shots at him when they get the chance. Di Resta, Button, Brundle, Stewart, Irvine, the list goes on and on. He also has his support...

I think Lewis has been worse in qualifying but better in the races in 2019. Overall I don't think he's been worse than in 2018 - about equal. Seems that Lewis agrees... 6VIk1rCygQI I disagree. Charles will win this battle as he is 19pts ahead with 2 races to go. But honestly Vettel has had some horrible races like crashing into Max in Silverstone, spin in Monza was embarrassing as well. I think this makes back to back seasons where, as soon as the FIA took steps to "clarify" their approach, they lost performance noticeably. If you recall, the same thing happened when the FIA temporarily installed a second sensor to monitor their battery output last year. So at the very least, it se...

Yes they would set the fastest lap on fresh tires during the race too. There is nothing magical about Sunday that makes their car slower than it is on Saturday. They simply lose out relative to Mercedes over the duration of a long stint because they lose tire life faster than Mercedes. Think you're...

Sigh, what? What are you even talking about? Ferrari are faster on the straights both in qualifying and in the race. That isn't baseless. It's empirical. We don't have to guess how fast they are on the straights. That is all captured. What part my post do you disagree with? It's funny how all of F1...

It seems that you didn't comprehend what I wrote (or perhaps stopped reading after the first sentence). If there was a safety car late in a race and all of the front-runners pitted for tires to go for the fastest lap; the Ferrari would be most likely to get it. You pulled that out of where? And eve...

After Mexico 2019 Lewis has 83 victories. Needs 8 more to tie and 9 to break Schumacher's record of 91. Lewis also has WDC #6 all but sewn up. At this point it's hard to bet against Lewis for WDC number seven at the end of 2020. After the regulations changes of 2021 number eight seems much less cer...

Hamilton, Perez, Ricciardo for me.
I find it scary that Verstappen won the fan vote after the race. I think this coming era in F1 might get very annoying with this influx of new fans who seem to lack any understanding of racing.
