I think they had the worst car at Hockenheim. It's not so worrying that the car is slow as it is that they seem completely unable to develop it. You're not wrong, some of the stuff coming out of them is so baffling - it's depressing as a longtime Macca fan. Alonso saying that Stoff has a car with l...

There is always the "what" and the "how". When someone achieves something great, people often make the mistake of thinking the "how" was either correct or necessary. Often this isn't the case. Between Max claiming they are short 70-80HP on Mercedes and Ferrari on one hand, and Gasly saying how much time they lose on the straights on the other hand, I'm not exactly feeling confident for RBR for next year. I wouldn't put the boot into Honda just yet. Gasly was saying the car was faster in ...

Re: 2018 British Grand Prix Race Thread
The mind boggles why Merc continually refuse to pit when the SC/VSC is called. Today, at the very very least, they should have split the strategies. The only explanation I can think of is that they were willing to crucify Bottas to allow Hamilton finish as close to Vettel as possible I doubt that's...

Another poor call from Merc not to pit Bottas. They could have had 2nd and 3rd at worst in this race.
Or did they sacrifice Bottas
Either way they can't complain on losing championship points to Ferrari

I think the engine change was more harmful to their chassis than they'd like to admit or had anticipated. It’s easy to forget that in 2013 and 2014 McLaren were already a midfield team before the switch to Honda engines. Ever since Tim Goss took over their cars have been underwhelming. Their budget is also only about half of what Mercedes and Ferrari spend. They are not a top team. They gave up a big c...

You mean 10kw(13bhp) from the bigger exhaust manifold? Still no reason why McLaren wouldn't allow them to make a similar change if Honda told them what it would bring. Make tires such that they don't make marbles all over the place. Having a tight track is one thing, not being able to go offline to overtake makes the situation worse. This applies to all tracks I guess.
