Re: Most disappointing driver of 2021
I started out thinking that Ricciardo was the most disappointing driver this year. After the French GP I have to revise my vote and say Botttas is the most disappointing driver. Valtteri's head is just getting into a worse and worse place. Still Ricciardo even on his best day today he's still slowe...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: France 2021
The only pic that was not an easy choice for me was Norris over Ricciardo. I gave it to Lando but I think that Daniel is starting to get comfortable in the McLaren and I don't think that Lando will be able to just run away from Daniel like he has most of this year. With a much stronger Daniel and a ...

Carlos Jr!!! Everyone thought that Leclerc would dominate Sainz. I am guessing that by the end of the year that Carlos will have put a lot of pressure on Charles and Ferrari will have a real team mate battle on their hands. Hopefully they don't start asking one or the other driver to sacrifice their...

Re: Tyre failure or over run tyre.
Remember in 2018 when Valtteri Bottas was leading in Baku by over a second and had a puncture on the main straight not so far from where Max and Lance had their trouble. Makes me wonder what it might be about that part of the track that seems to foster tire failure.

I spent about 15 years as a nationally licensed Flagging and Communications worker. I worked mostly club races but also a number of IMSA and Motorcycle road races. The Penske drivers have had a pretty bad month of May. Grid positions are as follows: Scott McLaughlin - 17th, Joseph Newgarden - 21st, Simon Pagenaud - 26th, and WILL POWER - 32nd. ....but all four of the Penske pilots made the top ten on carb day practice (presumably in race trim) Power and Pagena...

My first instinct to solving the Monaco problem is to reduce the size of the cars to what they were about 30 years ago.

Reduce both the width and the length.

Hard for me to argue with the three guys on the podium. None of then had a gimme race. Verstappen, Sainz, & Norris. Honorable mention to Vettel. Hopefully Seb is now getting accustomed to the Aston Martin and can start putting up some decent results. Would love to see Seb get a podium yet this year.

The rear wings are also monitored by cameras which let's the stewards know if the load tests are actually fit for purpose, in this instance seeing how much the rear wings are flexing on some cars they have realised that's not the case so a new test is to be introduced after the next race. Sainz, Bottas, & Norris.
It's a real shame that we didn't get to see what the last round of fast laps would have produced.
Leclerc was obviously fast all weekend so far but he is also the one who brought out the red flag at the height of Q3.

Either at Williams or out of F1. Seats are too competitive and after the last round of musical chairs, drivers will all be settling in nicely to their teams for the foreseeable future. If both Vettel and Raikkonen retire, there will be more than enough open seats to start another round of musical c...

If this keeps up, I could forsee Romain running a full schedule next year.
There is some real depth of talent in the Indycar field this year. Drivers like Dixon, Power, and Newgarden are going to have to work very hard to hold of the crop of young drivers.

My understanding was that McLaren on the whole wanted Hamilton to stay, but there was a not insignificant minority that felt that Button and a strong number 2 would be a better bet for a title bid for 2013. Certainly Martin Whitmarsh and Button had a proper bromance going on. Ultimately though, I t...

I'm pretty certain we'll see a Hamilton-Russell line up for Mercedes next year. I am wondering why Romain is getting this test. Certainly, he is way down the waiting line for a seat in the Merc for the next few years. Even if Merc decided to replace both Lewis and Valtteri for next year, I don't see Romain getting a drive in a Merc. Mercedes already have Stoffel Vandoorne and N...
