By far the most civilised way to go is via Metro but I would add that leaving the circuit at the end of the day may be better by walking (I have a place in Old Montreal so I'm lucky) but it beats having your nose jammed in someone's armpit on a crowded Metro train. Well that was interesting, I just came home in a blizzard, navigating from power pole to power pole. When I look out the window now there are ravens PLAYING! They like the updrafts from hills and buildings so they can almost hover in place - truly awesome creatures.
