Re: France: Vettels 5 Second Penalty

The stewards were deliberating over the first corner incident, and they had to decide "no further action" (wouldn't be that unusual either) or allocate the blame for "causing a collision". So they went for this later one. And apparently correctly so, they did not deem Vettel being reckless or delibe...

Re: France: Vettels 5 Second Penalty

It's like a drunk driver on a motorway. If you get caught you will probably get a big fine and a driving ban. If you kill someone you will do a few years inside. Is there any difference in the intent, or even the actions of the driver? No, but with any punishment you have to pay for what you've don...

Re: France: Vettels 5 Second Penalty

Not so much to construct a desired outcome, but to deliver a punishment equivalent to the act. I wouldn't go so far as to say disqualification (except in extreme circumstances I'm sure we'd agree on), but a stop-go would be a better punishment for the crime. I think a lot of contention around these...

Like I said, there are rumors Vettel would veto that move. You don't have to believe it because it is a rumor, but I do. Why even believe Vettel has a veto? This is Ferrari. At Ferrari, no driver is more important than the team. It's an old adage that rings true every time. Ferrari fired Prost form...

Re: Who was at fault, Ricciardo or Verstappen? (Baku 2018)

Verstappen had some initial success in qualifying higher than DR. but you have to say that on Sunday MV was not only slower but was under massive pressure from DR from overtakes, there was, in my view, an element of desperation in his defence that led to the crash. it's possible, but he has previou...

There can be no meaningful teammate comparison at Ferrari. The team basically sabotages Kimi's races. It's just not right IMO. To compromise his whole race just to make him get in Bottas's way for a couple of laps? Really? This is why some people hate it when Ferrari are strong. They always race li...

Hamilton, Vettel and Gasly. Bottas should have won this, dropped right back when he should have been closing. If Ham and Bottas swapped positions at the start of the race, Hamilton probably wins the race, but I don't think Merc had a faster car than Ferrari.
