Re: Formula 1 teams considering lifting ban on active suspen
After that, autonomous driving cars. Might as well. Well, Google has an autonomous driving car that's set up to be able to navigate in traffic along any public road, recognise road signs etc. I'm sure it would be relatively easy to get it to round a fixed track on a hot lap. https://www.youtube.com...

Re: Confirmed: US team among 2 new teams set for F1 in 2015
McLaren's exclusivity deal with Honda is allegedly for 1 year only so depending on how good the engine is, Haas could use it in 2016 badged as Acura which is the US arm of Honda.

Re: Confirmed: US team among 2 new teams set for F1 in 2015
i'm curious if he told dallara to start on the car months ago ? if not 2015 is looking pretty unlikely. also curious as to who he gets as a sponsor. bound to have his company on the car, but wondering if he can drum up a big name sponsor from the states. USF1 had Chad Hurley the co founder of Youtu...

Flavio Briatore belongs nowhere near F1, I thought he got a lifetime ban anyway after crashgate?

Re: Confirmed: US team among 2 new teams set for F1 in 2015
There isn't enough time for them to start in 2015, either they were told a while back that they would both be accepted or they won't start until 2016. I read somewhere else that it takes about 9 months just to design a car, then it has to be built, they have to sign 2 possibly 3 drivers, find other...

Re: Indy Car St. Petersburg 2014 thread
Just throwing a thought out there, Indycar engines are 600cc bigger than this years F1 engines, have twin turbos rather than one, are both direct injection V6s and sound a lot better than the F1 engine, so if Indycar can do it why can't F1?

Marco is 27, according to Wikipedia so if he gets the drive but they don't start until 2016 he'll be 29 which is quite old to be starting in F1.

Re: Haas waiting if he gets green light for 2015
If they get the go ahead (and I hope they do), Alex Rossi has got to be with a chance as one of the drivers, who else would they pick, maybe someone like Barrichello who has lots of experience and can help with car set up in the first year.

I won't consider an engine going pop proper unless it gives the same effect as Martin Brundle's Peugeot engine in the McLaren at Silverstone in 1994 did.

Re: Sky / BBC Coverage
Not that I'm bothered but I set up to record qualifying & the race on my Sky+ box yesterday and wasn't offered series link, maybe that's because I didn't choose to record the practice sessions as well but to be honest I'm not that bothered as I only record the races that are on during the night.

Re: Will this be Caterham's last season?
In my opinion, Tony Fernandes needs to decide what his priorities are. He owns Queens Park Rangers football club, Air Asia airline, and Caterham Cars & F1 team. If he is serious about F1 he should step up and put in as much money as it needs to be successful, if that means selling the football club ...

Re: Seeing a live race - is it worth it?
Depending on where you live and can afford it, I'd say try Monaco as the sound there is amazing as it bounces off the surrounding hills so the noise is almost constant. I'd say the General Admission on the hill is a good place to sit as you can see quite a lot of the circuit from there.
