Re: Channel 4 UK coverage - news thread

Channel 4 say they are showing an extended highlights show on Sunday from 2:20 to 4:55: https://www.channel4.com/4viewers/formu ... age-update

So they are showing quali and race back to back rather than allowing more race coverage I presume.

According to an article on Sky Sports, if quali can’t go ahead on Sunday, the results of Practice 2 will determine grid order for the race. https://www.skysports.com/share/11831808

Re: Gunther Steiner in hot Water?

Who would they be fining, him personally or Haas? I don’t like the idea of a team fine as it might result in less being invested in the car, which isn’t fair on the drivers. Seb said in Canada that you would have to be a blind man, but he didn’t go as far as to say the stewards were idiots. Steiner ...

Mine too. It’s not just another typhoon, but a race at the track where Bianchi had his fatal accident. I am sure they send out the SC/VSC in more situations these days but with it being Suzuka and the recent tragic events... I don’t see it. I think I’d change the points lower down first. Seems mad also that there are only 6 points between 2nd and 4th. In a grid of only 20 cars, I wonder if a return to only 8 points paying positions might be better.

Perhaps McLaren will go back to some silver when they move to Mercedes power. Re: Would Lewis win the world Championship in a Ferrari?

The hybrid era would likely have been more entertaining if he had been, that’s for sure. Ferrari have put out some good cars and some not good cars, and in 2019, it seems to be a 50/50 with their improvement since the break. Mercedes has largely had the best car so the championships would have been ...

In general terms I think a clear 1-2 is better for the drivers’ championship, but not necessarily the constructors’. One thing I don't see people talking about is the decision to pit Charles during that safety car period; costing him track position on Bottas. I thought that was foolish personally. Re: Anyone have any radical ideas to fix F1?

Something that just occurred to me while watching yesterday’s qualifying... change the rules so that you start the race on the tyre you set the fastest lap in Q3 on, rather than Q2 as is the case now. Therefore to get the often preferable medium starting tyre, it would be likely that the teams/drive...

They can do 4 teams if they get permission from the FIA, reading a quote from the regs in the comments on GrandPrix247. With the wording it seemed to me that they were going that route. Do away with superlicence penalty points and deduct championship points instead. Has anyone ever been disqualified from a race for accumulating too many in the 12 month period?
