Re: Can someone explain rfactor to me?
Now who was it that some years ago on this forum, posted a link to a Youtube vid claiming it as evidence that Schumacher (I think it was him anyway) had done something on track that they did not like only for the vid to be from a computer game with very realistic graphics? The poster actually though...

Re: V6/V8 Equivalency Formula?
Yeah but no matter how hard you try, having unrestricted engines will never work these days if for no other reason than cost. Basically Team A creates a V6 and Team B a V12. They could both produce exactly the same amount of power and torque, but they will never fit in the cars the same way, weight ...

You're not alone. I, along with my family and numerous people I have spoken to absolutely loved the opening ceremony. It made me feel incredibly proud and I really couldn't fault it. Loved it and will buy the DVD when it comes out so I can watch it again and spot all the things I missed first time t...

Personally I thought the choice of music was really good. There is no way that anyone can like all the music as the entire point of the set list was to cover a wide diversity of styles and tastes, not to mention covering different decades. The Spice Girls who I must confess to not exactly being a fa...

Re: Official Cycling Thread
I have to say that I never use a GPS to follow a route for cycling or walking. I use them purely for recording what I have done. I have a thing about maps. I love getting maps out and plotting a route. The only planning I do with Strava is using the explore facility and seeing where any segments are...

My tracks is useful for walking but for cycling it has a serious lack of features. Strava gives you an amazing amount of details and the fact that you can ride segments and become King of the Mountain (if you are good enough) is really good fun. Well what a stunning day for a ride. Re: Rossi leaving Ducati at the end of the season for Yamaha
Not surprised. A certain genius named Ayrton Senna was notorious for jumping ship when the cars he drove fell behind and going to the top teams to maximise his chance of success. It was like this when he went from Lotus to McLaren, and when McLaren couldn't produce a competitive car anymore he went...

Re: Rossi leaving Ducati at the end of the season for Yamaha
Whilst I understand he wants more victories, he's 33, does he really only have a couple of years left in him? I'm being honest here, whilst I watch most races and have done for years, I don't follow it like I do F1 and GT / Sportscar racing so have no idea how long riders can go on for. I think it's...

Re: What is difference between Slipstream,Dirty air & Tow?
Oh and re your game, you will be slower in corners in dirty air so tyres cool down as there is less lateral (sideways force) going through them. Following a car closely means less air hitting the car and thus air going in to the radiators which means your engine heats up.

Re: What is difference between Slipstream,Dirty air & Tow?
Slipstreaming and Tow are basically the same thing. The car in front creates a hole in the air so if you are close enough to it there is less drag caused by air allowing you to go faster. However drop back a little and where the hole in the air ends the air is disturbed (dirty air) and therefore doe...

Re: Rossi leaving Ducati at the end of the season for Yamaha
I understand the stage of his career etc. however there would surely be no bigger band than finishing on top with Ducati. He is Italian after all.
They did pretty well about 5 years ago. This should be possible to repeat although I know nothing is guaranteed and that includes Yamaha's performance.

Well it looks like Rossi gets to go back to Yamaha with a whole lot of egg on his face. Should be a good battle between the yamaha's next season. I think it's Ducati with quite a bit of egg on it's face - as a 9 times world champion couldn't manage to ride their bike fast enough. Rossi - he's proba...

I can already picture the scenes next year. Yet they will forget that the bike is the major factor and that he failed to help Ducati devel...
