I agree. Leclerc should have easily done better than Leclerc but instead he did worse than Leclerc which means Leclerc was the more impressive of the two.
Hehe. I meant norris.
So you think Norris was more impressive than Norris... :D

I like how this thread went from "Will Max ever stop making mistakes and step out of Lewis' shadow" to "Yeah, he might have won his 59th GP and equalizing the most consecutive poles record while his team mate barely made top 10 but did you see him struggle in FP2".

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

This has always been the case with front runners, be it Hamilton, Schumacher, Vettel or Senna. If they are ahead they are clear, the moment they are challenged/pressured the mistakes will come. It is nothing peculiar really. It's the degree of it that matters. Drivers are not robots so of course th...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Well it's a mix of both surely. The gap between how dominant Verstappen has been and how dominant Hamilton was with cars that enjoyed a similar pace advantage can absolutely be explained in part by Red Bull being better than Mercedes and Bottas being a bit better than Perez (much better after round...

Haven't read through the thread but I think one argument was for the extended points positions was to give more incentive to fight for positions outside of the top 10.
Can we think of another incentive besides handing out points if we don't want to mess with the current points system?

Bottas seems in good form at the moment. I expect his future career depends on what Sainz does more than anything else. If he leaves Audi will he have an opportunity at Haas or Williams? He would be an upgrade on Magnussen or Sargeant. Personally I hope he doesn't go to the outright backmarker team...

Frustratingly hard to gauge the drivers' performances when stuff like setup (see Lewis the last race) and tyre managing are so important. But I digress.. It's contract time and it looks like Bottas has upped his level and putting the kind of manners on Zhou he should have been doing all along according to some, however it might already be to late for his F1 future, I guess teams might be wise to that kind of behaviour. The more I think about it, the...

It does not matter what I project, the scenario will play out the same regardless whether Red Bull is dominant or not. Read some news about Vettel potentially being in the running to replace Lewis. I hope that is untrue; he was past it by 2018 and the subsequent time at Aston Martin was already an embarrassment.
