Re: 2016 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
If this is really about a mechanical issue (which it seems it is) I'm surprised Lewis isn't completely livid about this. This issue is single-handedly keeping Rosberg in the championship. Re: 2016 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
Hamilton shot himself in the foot with that start Sorry, but I don't believe that. I'm of the firm belief that there's an issue with that Mercedes car that's intermittent. Hamilton has consistently had VERY BAD starts this year - of a much higher % ratio than in ANY OTHER year of his F1 career. Tha...

Re: Jenson to announce his retirement today?
There are 2 bright sides to this: Button still remains connected to F1 & Vandoorne gets his chance to shine. Yep. It's disappointing that we won't see Button driving in 2017--- he's still relatively competitive and imo, easily among the top third drivers on the grid. But the prospect of an Alonso v...

Re: Verstappen, Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso - crash kids
Now Hamilton has once again said we should give Verstappen a break. There was nothing said in the driver's briefing either. You know why whiners are whiners cuz they can't say something to his face. Can’t say i’m really surprised. Hamilton hasn’t specifically condoned Max's actions, but perhaps Lew...

I certainly agree that a driver’s entire career or status, shouldn’t be judged on one bad season. But why is Vettel's 2014 judged a little more harshly? In my view, it's fairly simple. Putting it bluntly, it’s all to do with the calibre of Vettel’s team mates. The one time Vettel gets paired with t...

@mcdo About Alonso's 2007 season being bad, I think it was not, because both Alonso and Hamilton made mistakes that year. It happens when your competitor is very good. @Zoue Most people accept 2011 as an anomaly for Hamilton because despite crashing left and right in 2011 with Massa/Maldonado/Kobay...

I'd ask the forum a hypothetical question. For the purpose of the question, the hypothetical fastest car doesn't have as large an advantage as Mercedes currently do, but a championship capable car no less. 1) Give any driver the fastest car, and start them bang in the middle of the grid, 11th or 12...

Ricciardo in the top rank? The man who punted Kimi at Monaco 2015 and who would have crashed into Vettel in Spain if the other hadn't taken avoiding action? I don't think so I actually forgot about Monaco 2015, which I fully agree was his fault. Spain however I think was more a 50/50 - Vettel compl...

In the Mercedes Ricciardo and Vettel would give him some serious problems. Nobody is as good at converting wins out of a race winning car as Vettel. 9 wins in a row in 2013. The Mercedes drivers have never managed that in a single season between them. I've got to scratch my head at your thinking he...

I actually agree with your claim that the ability gap between Hamilton & Rosberg is perhaps not as close as the stats portray. They are similar in terms of inherent speed, but i agree that Rosberg needs to bring his racecraft up a notch to be considered among the top guys. I have no issue with that...
