Re: Nationwide crash @ daytona
That's some serious karma at work. Kyle rather rudely punted another driver off the makeshift short track the other night to take the win, a lotttttt of people had words about that.
Glad the 500 narrative is no longer all about Danica but this is soooooo not a good alternative.

I know they weren't willing to do or offer enough to keep him, or he'd still be there.

Methinks Marko has nice things to say about Carlos Sainz Jr, AFdC, Daniil Kvyat.
(And Andy Damerum is the Driver Development Manager at RBR. Marko is an advisor to the team, and plays a role with the Red Bull jr team, which none of the RBR or STR drivers are a part of)

Hamilton is a top driver, and as long as he is a top driver with backing, there would always be vacancy in a top team,he may have to bide him time a bit but they'll move mountains to make way, that's just the way it the real world works,it's all politics,it who you know and what you have to offer. Re: Official 2013 winter testing thread
If a team breaks cover on a completely different car next thursday, trying to rationalize the data from prior test days is impossible for outsiders - you don't know the correlation like the team does. And that's not like, totally out of the realm of possibility. Further, how many people actually go ...

There is no indication that it isn't legal, but it isn't required to test in legal trim, so you never know. Any of the cars could have bits that will be deemed illegal by the time the green flag flies in Melbourne. Its just another example of an unknown factor that makes it impossible to compare tim...

I don't know if anyone said they hope it doesn't work out for Merc, but I didn't. I would laugh if Lewis ended up seat-less when the music stops, but I'm not like, actively hoping for it.

Re: Is Hamilton sandbagging?
Hamilton is not bigger than any team. He can drive his heart out this year and never put a foot wrong - but if the team still sucks and stays where they are, or worse, takes a step back, the board could pull out. As good as Hamilton is, he isn't guaranteed a walk-on role at any other good team. If h...

Re: Official 2013 winter testing thread
"not bad" is an inherent comparison (there is no magic "good" number at a circuit, there is only what others run and what you run)...only you have nothing to compare it to, so it doesn't make any sense to label a lap "not bad" If another car/driver can do that lap a second and a half faster, does th...

Re: US Coverage of Final Testing Sessions
Until the season preview show (which hasn't officially been announced yet) the closest you get to F1 coverage in the States is the Mobil 1 commercial with a couple of seconds of JB, the Merc commercial with a car that sorta looks like an F1 machine driving on an oval, and the World of Red Bull spot ...

1) Rosberg says he thinks the car will be capable of wins, Hamilton says the opposite. What? One would have to presume that Lewis is aware any comments he makes will deconstructed with far greater scrutiny than those of Nico. And expectations from others are probably higher. I guess he's just manag...

Re: Official 2013 winter testing thread
Id rather have the feedback than have the driver who ignores a problem and pushes past it. If he doesn't tell me I need to make something better, I don't, and that turns into a dead end where it could have been an open door.

You cannot tell from long runs on random tires in freezing cold temps whether a team will be able to one stop ANYWHERE or not. Impossible. There is no adjustment coefficient available to figure that one out.

Re: McLaren software causing problems for F1 teams
Losing total communication with the car is not using a sensor out of spec. They are either having a software glitch prevent them from receiving the data or there is a problem with the fibre/antenna system. If MES is going around doing updates or reverting back to 2012 spec, its the former.

I don't think they are having individual problems like sensors out of range...it sounds like a more fundamental issue that is cutting off communication from the car.

I make a point never to be concerned with whatever Ted is concerned with. He's a sensationalist, and a guesser. And is wrong a lot. There is a lot of analysis out there by folks who aren't selling a product (coverage) and it always seems much less alarmist this time of the year.

lol of course it is McLaren's fault...its just a different part of McLaren from the formula 1 team. The FIA tells them what they need to include with input from the teams, MES says okay here is how we will do it, then they get the go ahead to build it. Sounds like they need to bring some development...
