Re: Anyone believe Ferrari signed Hamilton because Charles is a disappointment?
Reactionary take due to poor form from Leclercs season opening. Before 2024 Ferraris woes have been Ferrari and I say this as a fan. They've lost more points for Leclerc than Leclerc has lost for Leclerc. Is it reactionary... Leclerc has generally been a better driver than Sainz but only managed to...

Re: Silly Season 2025
That upside is completely immaterial if you first driver is delivering on all cylinders every single race. How many more races would Red Bull have won since the beginning of 2022 if another driver sat next to Verstappen? It is whilst you have a dominant car. Or if your lead driver doesn't suddenly ...

Verstappen does not need protecting at all. Perhaps it is time that you put your cards on the table and explain what possibly could be in it for Red Bull to sign either Hamilton or Alonso at their advanced stages of their career and with a hefty price tag along with it in particular in the case of ...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?
One thing that bothers me about the Max/Lewis debate is that many of the arguments for Lewis being better are not actually based on skill, but on legacy. For instance, Lewis has won a title for two different teams. Max has never had a realistic opportunity at achieving this. It’s not like he has an...

Re: Silly Season 2025
Exactly that. Of it isn’t a problem for Ferrari, the team is not winning anything at the moment. Red Bull have the best driver and the best car. Why on earth would the team hire Hamilton? It makes no sense at all. You know this of course and still keep pushing the point. It just seems strange that ...

I've now read the article and it doesn't say that Red Bull turned down Leclerc, however it's interesting you agree the need to cater for Verstappen. Is it much of a revelation? Red Bull have taken exceptional measures to ensure they keep Verstappen in the past. It's hard to see a reason why they wo...

Well you know it doesn't really surprise me how you would keep on drumming up something that happened with Hamilton 15 years ago when he allowed himself to be coerced, a strong stance from a neutral observer. A member of the team did tell him to lie and he was later sacked for it but you seemingly want to question the truth of it. You don't hear the Ferrari drivers criticising their car, that's interesting. Not in the same vein that Lewis has repeatedly done over the years. I don't think so. Hamilton is one of the biggest sports stars in the world and for a brand...

Roll back to 90s technical regs with a budget cap that enforces 90s size budgets (adjusting for inflation). Use todays sporting regulations but without DRS. Race on proper circuits. Job done. If a 90s style race happened next weekend with the level of coverage we have now people would go nuts for it.

You would object to Hamilton retiring from the sport if all he could find himself in was the 4th/5th fastest car? I'm not sure how we've got here but I'd certainly say that being the last WDC for McLaren in an inferior car (which it unquestionably was) adds to Hamilton's legacy. Real hard to pick winner between 2010, 2011 and 2007. I went for 2011 because that sort of race at the time felt so unique. It's really not something we'd seen before and it became the sort of race that was the hallmark of F1 for the next 2 and a half years.

Alonso said that it was in his top 5 drives ever. Hamilton won his 57th race at the 2017 British Grand Prix. Verstappen won it yesterday. It’s quite a weird feeling because by midway 2017, Hamilton felt like he was a lot further along in his career.
