Re: Telling someone about F1...

It's pretty simple, if they present a dismissive close minded view of motor racing in general... they just don't "get it" if they pick at specifics then I might listen to their viewpoint. I know a lot of people who love Aussie V8's but don't bother watch F1 for instance. It's really hard to explain...

Re: Telling someone about F1...

Explaining F1: I f****** love cars. Have done since I was young. I spent a fair amount of time in my youth watching and attending motorsport. Men fighting their machines while fighting each other. No other series does it as quick. Cars built to be the fastest road racing machines on earth from the g...

Re: Can a team rig their own driver's car?

Considering in the past drivers (including legend/s of the sport) have paid mechanics to sabotage a teammate's car ... anything is possible and in this case probable. Yes you get more money the higher up the constructors standings you get, but winning a WCC without a WDC is a consolation prize. Team...

I'd rather watch prototypes over WSBK, even if it was one bike diong time trials. Unless they lower the homogolation limit and Honda make another bike like the RC45/RVF750 .. all 300 of them.

The whole thing is horrible, it has created a feeling of sadness for me which borders on anxiety and only grows with passing time and more info comes out. He's a quiet guy from a humble background with shed loads of talent and ever increasing trophy cabinet.

There's little need to gloat and even less need to defend him to trolls, baiters or immature, factless, baseless claims.

Time will silence his critics.

... I could be wrong, but ... could the setup work better with the Pirellis? Ferrari and pretty much every who had pushrod in the rear didn't have a good year getting the power down, was their biggest undoing last year.

Re: Is F1 really the pinnacle of motorsport?

I say this as a prototype lover, Group C cars were so much cooler to me than F1 cars as a kid but at the end of the day it comes down to lap times by different vehicles on the same track. Current prototypes might have more power but they don't get it all down as well as F1 cars. Kimi used his favour...

Re: Does the constructors' trophy go to the right team?

I don't think there's not really a lot to discuss. If you make a f1 car and it wins a GP you get a trophy for the race, seems fair. You may also get points at the race and if the total of all your points is higher than everyone else at the end of the year ... you get an even bigger trophy (and lots ...

I've never been in a position where I didn't have a favourite driver on the grid, give me the grid, I'll pick a favourite. Without 'drivers' to support there's always teams too. I've enjoyed watching the minnows try to launch in to the midfield and I'm still hoping for Caterham to take first blood. ...

No, please no. Motorsport is a sport where women can compete on absolutely even terms with men. Why on earth introduce a divide that does not need to be there. "Formula Woman" was terrible and I recall a female race driver saying she'd deliberatly avoided it because the standard was so low and it p...

There was a great article written in 1996 or so that made it way around on the web for years after, speculating what F1 might be like by now. The article was truely inspiring. Can't find it though but it filled me with hope and dreams.
