I predict that one car will DNF and the other will slow down to collect as much data as possible, finishing just in front of the Saubers.

Re: Force India announce new livery
I'm not particularly fond of it (which is likely mostly because I dislike pink), but at least it does stand out. I suppose if they already knew this was in the works that may be why the livery they ran under during testing seemed a bit hastily tossed together -- they expected not to keep it.

Re: Group Pick'em 2017
I think that sounds like an entirely reasonable way to deal with the scoring, provided that you're willing to deal with keeping track of it all. It is somewhat complicated, and you'll certainly need to post the current values of the drivers and teams after each race so that people can make the decis...

Re: Looks like Honda sorted their Indycars (lots more HP), F
What is surprising is how long they were underpowered. I mean, those should be bread and butter engines for Honda, but they managed to be off the mark for so long and let Chevy dominate them. True. It at once offers a glimmer of hope that they may develop a competetive F1 engine in the future and i...

Re: Indy Car: St. Petersburg Grand Prix
Not a bad race, but the mass brake trouble certainly threw a bit of a monkey wrench in things. I don't follow Indy Car closely enough to know exactly what was up with the brake change or why it was made, but so far it doesn't seem to be going that well for most teams. It was interesting for the winn...

I'm not somebody with a particular fondness for the volume of engines, but I do think there's something to be said for the unearthly scream. The video posted is an interesting juxtapostition with the new car and the old engine sound. Mostly I think the newer engines sound better with more texture, b...

Crash & Learn is searching for a new second driver. Due to this being only the team's second season in the sport, the only requirement is being present for as many races as possible. Ability to score consistent points a plus. Team name going forward negotiable.

Re: Obligatory Favorite Driver
This is easier for me with picking a single driver than it would be picking a top three, actually; Kimi is the clear favourite, but the runners-up are fairly numerous and there isn't any real clear order beyond number one. Ricciardo, Pérez, and Alonso would probably be the next three, although Sainz...

Sauber
McLaren
Renault
Red Bull
Toro Rosso
Haas
Ferrari
Mercedes
Williams
Force India

Re: Toro Rosso STR12 Unveiled!
I wouldn't say that this is my favourite livery, but I do like it -- and it's nice to see Toro Rosso with livery that's very distinct from Red Bull this year. It's a striking blue, and the silver bits work really well with it. On a less livery-oriented note, those sidepods look rather different from...

Re: Haas VF-17 Unveiled!
I didn't like the livery initially, but it's grown on me. I'm going with the best option at this point, if for no other reason than the unusual treatment on the shark fin -- I really like that. The grey of the car might be a bit dull, and it may blend in a bit too much on track, but I like the red a...

I like the livery, and the "unlucky for some" sign is pretty good. I strongly suspect that this isn't what the car is actually going to look like come testing, so that makes it more difficult to speculate on the rest of it, but the nose that's on right now is certainly different from the others. Personally I think it looks quite nice overall. It's a nice shade of blue, and I much prefer the gold to the previous yellow. The change between the gold and blue on the front wing is a little odd, and the white spaces do look quite blank at the moment (I'm assuming that's where the sponsors will ho...

I'm glad to see that there are some unique aspects to it -- and hopefully they will be unique in a good way. I think it looks rather nice, really -- the lines of the car are good, and I happen to like the livery (and to me, the orange and black looks much better than orange and white would). The nose detail is interesting, too; rather different from the noses of the other cars revealed so far.

I quite like the design of the livery, even though I'm never wild about the yellow -- it's got a fairly aggressive look, and that's all to the good. As far as the car itself goes, there are some obvious differences between it and those revealed later, so that could be a good sign (or a bad sign). It...

I'm not sure how much of an effect the new regulations will have on DRS or whether that will have a positive effect on the racing, but I do think that there's a good chance that the new regulations as a whole will have a positive effect -- although if so, I expect it to come mostly from the tyres. Re: Damon Hill - Better than his reputation?
I agree that Damon Hill generally ends up being underrated. Kimi's is my favourite, as it often ends up being; to me, it's the best combination of an interesting design, good bold colours, being easily recognisable, and not being too cluttered. I'd prefer no budget cap at all. I don't believe it will fix any of the actual problems, and I do believe that it will be likely to create the same sorts of problems -- or at least what I see as problems, as this is a matter of opinion -- that can be seen in many US sports. I find it hard to argue with Mercedes being the best team.
