Re: 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Race Thread

Max slowed and weaved, you can't be doing that He slowed down way before the waving. The waving probably was done to keep the heat in tyres. Look, Max was a lunatic this race. But I wouldn't jump the horse and say after all that he made that on purpose. That is too much. And the more you look at re...

I still don't understand why Lewis slowed down right behind Max, got into his gearbox. I guess people are a bit too fired up with all this, sure Max made some very stupid moves, but in this particular incident if you look with a clear mind Max slowed down for hundredths of meters then Lewis comes by...

Re: 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Merc absolutely dodged a bullet there. Max was on a flier. Single lap pace was a concern for LH and thats why Horner was confident yesterday. Looks like the thought process was to get the pole and beat them with strategy. They had a one lap speedy set up from what I read. Man, this must be a gut pu...

Re: 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

I think he still needed quite a good last corner, Hamilton did a very good last sector, I think he gained some 1-2 tenths (?) on Max's previous lap. It would've been probably very close. Still once he was that wide he really shouldn't try to make the corner...I wish this wouldn't be the title decide...

Re: 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

I too would go against the popular opinion, I don't think the track is that bad for RB. It's a lot about downforce here - in a low wing setup. RB has the downforce rake, also the corners are pretty straightforward, short and fast (the track also looks kinda narrow), that would mean you need instant ...

Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021

I'm actually leaning to think that Losail might be the best chance of last 3 races for RB to win. Did some laps on sim there are a lot of medium to fast corners in which you really need tons of downforce, you lean a lot on the car. It's all about how much they will lose on that 1km straight. The tra...

No and he did that prior to running Lewis of earlier.

Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021

Not sure why RBR struggled here so much. I think it is one off. Charles was easily able to keep up with Max and in qualifying as well Gasly was less than 0.2sec off Max in a RBR. But I think they got away with it. In normal circumstances it would have been an easy 1-2 for Mercedes. I think US RBR w...

That line he took with Leclerc was a perfect exemplification of how he SHOULD've done in the first instance with Max. Hamilton winning this one with his main rival out of the race, due mainly to his mistake, doesn't do justice to F1. Did Hamilton take a different line or did Leclerc take a differen...

That definitely looks like Ham fault (not often is that the case I must say). IF he was fully on inside touching the kerb then we would tak about it. But he was like half of car from the apex. That whole left kink should be widened. For a long time cars are battling close to each other full speed in that area, being a prominent place for overtaking. Common sense to enlarge it. You can easily fit 3 cars wide and these are F1 drivers. It's not that narrow. Yes, but its about being bent, th...
