Re: Is F1 Run By Complete Idiots?
Formula 1 is run/influenced by people who think only of themselves, in particular Delta Topco, all the teams (owners, managers), Ecclestone when he's wearing his CVC hat, Ecclestone when he's wearing his own hat, Todt and certain governments and certain politicians. Not all of them are idiots, most ...

Re: I miss Häkkinen vs Schumacher
It was an engrossing rivalry over championship seasons - but in terms of on track action, bar a couple of highlights most of their racing involved gaining/losing track position through pitstops. Not that it wasn't fascinating seeing these high speed chess matches play out (will Schumacher come out o...

Not much to add on how Hill joined Williams as a test driver, but he got the race seat because the engineers were pushing for him over Hakkinen. Frank Williams can be heard discussing it with Prost in a documentary about the team: https://youtu.be/LQIPaa7KDTs?t=44m19s

Re: Alex Wurz says thank you. Calls it a career
I remember his debut - he showed lots of promise. His F1 racing career didn't quite work out, I think he was wasted as a McLaren test driver and when he returned to racing he was probably a bit past his F1 peak and race rusty. Still, he had a better F1 career than most and a good stint in WEC. As he...

As if he was the only rider ever to be so agressive... Rossi did many very agressive moves in the past too. What do you think about his overtake on Gibernau at Jerez 2005? That overstepped the mark and should have been sanctioned. Rossi v. Stoner, Laguna Seca 2008 was aggressive riding without reck...

Marquez has a very agressive style as we all know, and being agressive doesnt mean he wants to hit other riders, if he had some incident he obviously never did it on purpose. Simoncelli was similar. Lack of isn't a licence for recklessness. I think MotoGP should have more balls out riders like him,...

Not sure if his presence has made any difference to the teams success. Seeing as the system exists, I would say Surtees should at least have been offered one (it's rare for information about who refused titles to be revealed but seeing as he accepted an OBE, it would be odd to turn down a knighthood). It's also criminal that Sid Watkins' highest honour was an OBE. He s...

I voted 1. He'll win a title then Hamilton will join Ferrari. Ferrari and both drivers will insist on equal treatment because they will want to beat each other on equal terms. I reckon 1. Sadly, he'll have announced his retirement before the start of the season and McLaren will have confirmed his replacement. He'll bag his 3rd title then watch his replacement win 4 in a row while he has slightly above moderate success in WEC.

Hamilton deals the other hat to Vettel, so it's not like he was singling Rosberg out in a "silly game" (to quote Rosberg).

Regarding Heidfeld he did nothing post BMW in F1, he replaced Kubica when he got injured but couldn't beat Petrov in the same car which basically ended his F1 career. To be fair, Boullier turned against Heidfeld fairly quickly. The situation ended up either in court, or with an out-of-court settlem...

I wouldn't be sad to see RBR (and STR, for that matter) get bought/replaced. The way Horner and Marko have conducted themselves since RBR became a front running team has been shambolic and I wonder at their naivety when it comes to dealing with the press.

I read in Autosport at the time that it was, ironically, Mercedes that pushed for Raikkonen over Heidfeld.
