Re: Red Bulls new whipping boy
Of course, it couldn't just be that if he'd started where he expected to, halfway through his practice start he would have to drive around everyone starting at the P1 slot... Apart from the part where he pointed his car at the wall and burnt his wheels out - that is not a practice start. I do wonde...

Re: Magnussen linked to McLaren seat
As a Button fan, I think Perez has come in for some unnecessary criticism this year. So often I've thought JB has been outperformed by him, just for things to somehow ending up going wrong for Perez. Races like Japan where he was ahead of Jenson, although admittedly he got himself a puncture from Ro...

Re: The best car illusion
Is there a way that a driver could win a world championship without people thinking he is driving the best car? We often hear that you need the best or equal best car to win a championship or such and such a driver needs to prove how good he is by winning in an inferior car. Surely though if a car ...

Re: Vettel not one of the greats - Eurosport article
Welcome to F1 Have you ever heard about Nigel Mansell? If yes, then I´m sure you´ve heard sometime he drove one of the fastest cars ever, and he´s considered one of the greats because he had previously won lots of races with a different team , but even so a lot of people still say he only won his W...

Re: Vettel not one of the greats - Eurosport article
Being nursed by Red Bull all the way and being lucky to be in the best car of the grid for most of his career - with at least two of them in absolute dominant cars, a luxury that many greats never had/have - does represent a valid point, as valid as to emphasize his great driving. I'm not sure who ...

Re: F1 and the environment
Some good points but at the end of the day, it seems like I have no business telling people to change their lifestyles to a more environmentally friendly one while I'm supporting activities that do some real damage to the environment. The question isn't if it's okay for F1 to do what it does. The q...

Re: Vettel's number of poles!
If the Red Bull is anything but outstanding next year, he'll struggle to match Ayrton's record. Three or four next year won't cut it, as he'd then need a virtually perfect run in 2015 to get there. Out of interest, how many pole positions had Ayrton managed after 117 races? The answer is over 50. E...

Aluminium versus Steel braking query
A friend of mine was recently doing research, and she told me she had to compare aluminium brake caliper pistons against steel brake caliper pistons. She said it was almost impossible, so I offered to try and help, but safe to say after an albeit rather quick search, I couldn't seem to find much eit...

Disappointing not to see more people interested. No, I can understand why it's not fun if you're not a fan, but that seems to be a problem nowadays. There doesn't seem to be as many fans of the sport . And by that, I mean it doesn't matter who it is, or how deserving you think they are, but history...

Yes he would. Fangio won his first in 1951, then finished second the following year, before going on to win 4 in a row.

Re: Horner admits Ricciardo was part of strategy!
Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Horner is saying Ricciardo was part of the strategy, just that he held some of the field up and that was advantageous as it built a gap. But there is nothing to suggest Red Bull had anything to do with it. And if they did, Horner wouldn't be as daft to admit it...

Re: Japanese GP: Mark Webber says Red Bull made a mistake on
What makes me the most angry about this entire mess is the complete lack of respect shown towards Mark Webber by RB. Webber has been with the team since it's inception. He was there for the team and helping them develop the car when the team was a backmarker in its early years (not like Vettel who ...

Re: Alonso: Ferrari's position is a miracle
The whole point of looking at the statistics for qualifying was to prove which car was the better car for the first 6 races up to Monaco. To do that, you use the best result achieved by that car on that day, since that is the result that is closest to what the car was capable of achieving on that d...

Having been around ever since 2008 I thought that you`d know by now that Webber`s qualifying position for China can not possibly be BLANK(none, nada, nothing), so what you say, is not officially correct. I`m not portraying anything, Ferrari does have a better qualifying average than Red Bull at the...

I haven't seen any evidence to suggest Vettel is a superior driver to Hamilton. Both are World Champions after all. Vettel has more titles, wins, poles, fastest laps, laps led and podiums than Hamilton and he's been in F1 less races. There is a case for Vettel being the superior driver. Let alone t...

to be fair, there are more races to win in a season now, and they way he's been dominating it was bound to happen sooner or later. I don't buy the "It's because the same guy is winning all the time" stuff. I don't remember Schumacher getting booed as he lifted WDC 5,6 & 7 for Ferrari. Yes. As a Button fan I've had my heart broken in 3 of the last 4 races where he was running in a podium position, just for it to get away from him. Realistically, perhaps they haven't had a chance, but I think if luck goes there way and Button is there, they might just sneak one before seasons end.
