Re: 2019 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Race Thread
I think this is the point where Mercedes just turns down the engine and cruises to the end. Ferrari is going to go balls out, get a few wins, blow a few engines, crash into a few walls and Mercedes is going to simply cruise grabbing top 5 spots consistently to yet another double championship. You speak of Bahrain as if its indicative of this season, like China and Australia didn't happen. Sure, Ferrari got unlucky in Bahrain. Luck plays a part. But they were smoked in China and Australia as well, from a team that was "slower" in the preseason. Mercedes layed it on thick about how slow th...

We should just rename him Toto 'Cried' Wolff at this point ;) But jokes aside, Mercedes have been doing this for a while now. People should know they don't show their hand until they need to. I don't really see it as being dishonest though, they're just not showing their hands. I'll (try and) make ...

How they lack the pace, Ferrari are the favorites, red bull is really fast, how they don't know where Ferrari is getting its speed from, all up until Q2 when they "find" a way to either narrow the gap that existed to that point or outright beat Ferrari. I don’t see repeated claims that Mercedes are behind, Mercedes dominated 2 or the first 3 races. You haven't noticed Wolff and Hamilton telling the world that pretty much every weekend, then. Yeah, because they arranged for Charles to drive into the wall, right? Must be hard to see a faster overall package losing due to team/driver errors against a team and drivers who haven't put a foot wrong. especially as this is Ferrari's third season with a car that could have won the championship....

That was odd, Ferrari are supposed to be better on the straight yet Vettel didn't gain any time over Hamilton's provisional pole lap on the back straight. May have been the tow. I support what I call a soft Budget cap. $200 million but for every $1 spent over that teams pay a 10% tax into a tax pool dividend amoung the teams at the end of the season. Could even put it on an incremental scale. >$200m 10% tax >$250m 12% tax >$300m 15% tax Etc. not enough of a hit. Let's say ...
