Re: 2019 French Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
Someone on reddit went through the trouble of editing lots of pictures to get rid of the blue/red run offs and replace it with grass and gravel traps. Looks so much better. God knows how the drivers don't get distracted and take a wrong turn! (though I guess that's why they're paid the big bucks an...

I was hoping.... but F1 missed another chance to listen to drivers and fans. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/fia-open-to-dropping-paul-ricard-chicane-for-2019-1047502/3129286/ It was like, "good, we will consider removing chicane for 2019, it is too late now", and in the meantime they just did no...

Option 3 is the only sensible one for me. Seems harsh but it's the stewards sticking to the rules. He has no one to blame but himself, unfortunately. Re: Canada 2019: Vettel Penalty
The judges forgot the main rule in court, and the main starting point of all fair judgement - presumption of innocence. They in fact did not prove any illegal intent by Vettel. They just applied the rule to what they thought to be the truth. Poor judgement.

Special congrats to Ricciardo as well as Gasly who is up there. Yes, also to Norris for beating Sainz.

Throw the current rule book in the fire. Get the one from 1978, add the safety features and that's it. Current F1 rule book looks like a nazi constitution.

I don't think that this is radical, but can't they have two lanes in the box, where the outer one is obliged to be used unless is occupied? Then, we would see no unsafe release anymore and bingo-bangs in the box. In tracks like Monaco, how would they implement this? Also, how would it work? Who wil...

There you go guys. Knock yourselves out! I didn't think it was that bad; but I'm a fan. Seems the irate 'blue flags!' were for entry into Portier. He had to take a wider line into that corner to gap Max through the tunnel; but with a slower car in front he had to take a shallower line to cover Max ...

Didn't vote for Hamilton, despite his magnanimous driving effort, because he was publicly scolding the team and holding a speech to them, when nothing really wrong was happening, and team was right that it will go to the end. Spoiled toddler or what.
Voted for Kubica for being 15th at one moment.

Re: Was Ferrari wrong to let Arrivabene go?
At the middle of the season 2019, Ferrari went the wrong way with development and they lost the championship. Sacking Arrivabene was a knee jerk reaction. Now, that Ferrari became a circus maximus, it pays even bigger price for that mistake. It needs to reset and start from scratch.

I have heard often that Indycar as series, and drivers therein are on a much lower level than F1. Turns out that racing is a science, no matter on which side of the ocean it is. There's one thing about Nikki that I'm curious about. I wonder if there are any old-timers in here who can comment on 1984 (kidding - you don't have to be that old to remember that). He was more than a driver, he was F1. His comeback story is one of the most remarkable stories in the history of sports. To hell and back to first place. Such a sad day, big loss. I was fortunate enough to watch on TV some some of his races, including the last victory in 1985.

It just goes to show that having two top-class drivers is NOT the best way to win championships. Always better to have one be clearly faster than the other so they don't trip over each other. Completely agree. Because of two strong drivers Williams lost in 1981 and 1986. Mclaren and possibly Renaul...
