Re: One move to defend an overtake Opinions please.

It was an understanding between drivers that went back to the days when messing about with lines when a driver was trying to overtake you had the real possibility of ending in someone's death. It was a gentlemanly thing, not only out of safety but out of courtesy. This held without question until t...

Re: One move to defend an overtake Opinions please.

This is slightly off topic, but is about overtaking. Is 'hanging a driver out to dry' on the exit of a corner against the rules? The rules state that it is illegal to push a driver beyond the confines of the track, but that is exactly what is done and no one is ever reprimanded for it. Is 'The Vett...

Re: One move to defend an overtake Opinions please.

Just dumbing down the sport even further. Bloody hell it is going to be a cakewalk to overtake; you now have an overtaking button in the form of DRS and the driver in front can only have one move to defend. Now there are going to be huge useless discussions in forums, commentator booths and in stew...

Re: One move to defend an overtake Opinions please.

This is classic example waving ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUgR7Pb8ChA Very good example. The car in front initially decided to defend the inside line into the chicane. However, once it became apparent that he was going to be overtaken by Schumacher on the outside he changes his line to try ...

Re: One move to defend an overtake Opinions please.

Well, my knowledge of the unwritten rule going back to the late 80s early 90s was that the one move was determined as follows:- "A move off the racing line and then back again = one move". That is certainly my memory of seeing moves between Senna, Prost, Mansell et al. i.e. look at the racing line ...

Re: One move to defend an overtake Opinions please.

Reading this: "Q. The 'one-move' rule on defending a position has been reinstated. Has there been a problem with dangerous blocking in the last few seasons? Re: Sky Sports F1 is broadcasting

I think one other thing we need to remember is that Sky are going to have a lot more programming time than the BBC ever did so they are going to need to have a varied array of programmes and features to fill all that time.

My problem is, like always in this country, those who are priced out of the opton are then vilified by those who can afford to pay and are too arrogant to empathise, for speaking out. Shame.
