Re: RULES OF IN-DEPTH
Just when I found myself reading PF1 less and less due to the trolling, there is a glimmer of sunshine...and rational conversation. Thanks!

Re: Magic Button!!!!!
Don't you like her? Jessica Michibata. She doesn't seem to doing too badly. She's still working and travelling around with a multi millionaire sports star. From what I can gather she's well liked within McLaren at all levels also. Just like every other gold-digger... If you define "gold digger" as ...

Re: Lotus Drivers in Person
Kimi is rude with the media and fans? So what? Being rude reflects poorly on one's character. It's not something to look up to, it's a character flaw. Being rich, famous and in a position to drive a car really quickly doesn't really give anyone a free pass on this matter. Boys are allowed to act ch...

Re: Report links Trulli with Massa's Ferrari race seat
The "cheeky with a glass" line is a rampant display of good Brit humour. +1 for that, -1 for those that missed it. On more serious topics, why not Trulli for the remainder of this year, with all of his experience to help drive car development, with the intent of Perez for next, or the year after? I ...

Re: Lewis gets along too well with Button
Very interesting thread. I love psychology, especially the long-distance kind; Melbourne is about 12,000 miles from Europe. Driver fastest speeds at the Start/Finish line: Hamilton 302 kph Button 288 kph Driver fastest speeds at the main straight speed trap: Hamilton 314 kph Button 301 kph Did Butt...

Re: Pirelli P zero Tyres Are terrible
Goodyears IMO. I had Pirellis on my pick up and i got very crappy mileage out of them compared to the Goodyears i got after. Both the same ratings. You can optimize for grip, weather/road conditions, or mileage. But usually only one at once - and the other two are trade-offs. It would appear that t...

Re: JB will never...
JB will never...become a Sky commentator. I mean, I wouldn't mind if he does, and replaces Hill someday...but I see him more likely at the BBC, replacing DC. He will make a HELL of a commentator, and a statesman for the sport, when and if he decides to go down that route after retirement. Which hope...

Re: New safety car rules.
Remember that if the lapped cars do not do the extra lap, i.e., they allow the leading cars to simply pass, they are carrying more fuel and wearing tyres less. Usually that will not matter, but I could imagine quite a row if a lapped car suddenly decided they had enough fuel and good enough tyres to...

Re: Lewis gets along too well with Button
Y'all do know that Lewis and Jenson actually vacation/holiday together? ... I'd be interested to be told of an example of that, as all I've ever heard from both of them is that they don't spend time together apart from race weekends. Hmmm, thought I'd heard it on the BBC, but I can't find a link an...

Re: Pirelli P zero Tyres Are terrible
Well tbh before Pirelli's crummy tyres there was plenty of degradation and problems from not looking after your tyres as there is in any other racing formula that didoes have two stage tires. ... for example vettel with more durable tyres could have chased down button and tried to pass him if he ha...

Re: Lewis gets along too well with Button
Y'all do know that Lewis and Jenson actually vacation/holiday together? That despite their in-team rivalry they actually do get along? When they race wheel to wheel, they are careful not to take each other out. And they've had some experience at that. When Jenson put Lewis into the wall in the rain ...

Re: Williams are back
i suppose if the car is fast, there's no reason to take a pay driver. Williams perhaps thought their car was still a backend car and decided to go for Senna's money when Sutil was the obvious choice. Anyway, i foresee Sutil in the Merc if Schumi quits next year. Is it wasn't for Senna's money maybe...

Re: Whitmarsh: "more than marginal" on fuel
No, I think it shows the strength of the Renault engines, which is fuel economy, and Mclaren's response, which is to underfuel their cars so they don't have a large weight discrepancy. The total weight of the car is assessed "dry", without fuel, so by needing less fuel the Red Bulls can start lighte...

Re: Massa- career almost done?
Massa has shown, convincingly, that there are some injuries that are too severe to ever fully recover from. Like having your skull split by a piece of a suspension. WHY OH WHY anyone that thinks he should go and yet, on the other hand, is rooting for Kubica to be put in his stead clearly shows that ...

Re: Magic Button!!!!!
I think his title in 2009 _was_ lucky. He almost couldn't hold it together towards the end of the season when the Braun lost it's advantage of raw pace, and the stress and strain were very visible. He is now a MUCH better driver, and much stronger mentally I believe. He had had too many losing seaso...

Re: Button for WDC!!
From my seat on the inside of Turn 1 (Brabham stand, section E), there were two places that JB just dominated: the apex of Turn 1 consistently challenged most drivers, and you could audibly hear them lift. Or they hit the curb or grass, and unsettled their car going in to Turn 2, which slowed them (...
