Re: 2019 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread
Red Bull completely dropped the ball today with strategy. They had to pit before Lewis and just got complacent. Shameful. I don't know about that - it's a bit harsh in my opinion. Remember how fast Lewis caught Max before he was pitted it was like he was teleported to the back of Max's car from now...

Re: Is Vettel finished?
Maybe he peaked too early and needs a change of scenery to reinvigorate himself. Leclerc as a teammate is going to be a disaster for Vettel as he (in my opinion, of course) has the credentials to become an F1 champion so he (Leclerc) will only be getting better. Tough position to be in. He's a veter...

I really enjoyed the race so much close racing it was impossible for the TV director to keep up! I don't believe Bottas would have been able to resist Hamilton today but the safety car put paid to any chance of a fight so we'll never know. Gutted for Vettel but it was his misjudgement I don't believ...

Why join him when you might be able to beat him from where you are in a year or two? Why join him when you might be able to replace him in 3 years? I think Max has faith in what Red Bull and Honda are doing and, I honestly agree with him. They are having an excellent first year all things considere...

Steve Jones has been becoming very annoying on the Channel 4 coverage for a while now - thought he was okay at first but now seems like he's trying too hard to be funny - a bit like what happened with Jake Humphreys. Rest of the C4 team are solid though. Always find it strange that they find these t...

Initially the Honda chassis clears Leclerc's cockpit area. But contact with Ricciardo initiated a clockwise rotation of Alonso, so that the right front wheel was moving backwards relative to Leclerc. When the wheel made contact with the Halo, it was not moving forward, but backwards and directly to...

Bit late to the party here but as a non-Sky subscriber I take what I can get and enjoyed the C4 coverage. Two things I took from that. 1) It made the race a hell of a lot more interesting! 2) It proved to me that Rosberg deserved the championship as he had to fight for that 2nd place and absorbed an enormous amount of pressure Fair play to both Hamilton and Rosberg - both played their cards well in that...

Everyone needs a bit of luck to win a championship, but Hamilton fans praying for bad things to happen to Nico is terrible. Let them fight it out on the track and see who is the best man. The only way Hamilton can win it this year is for Rosberg to have bad things happen to him - it's just fans bei...

I thought he was unlucky today - in hindsight it's easy to criticise but Rosberg left a gap initially. Perhaps he was also doubly unlucky it was Rosberg's indestructible car he hit as well!

Luckily the championship is not decided by these standards. Luckily, the question has nothing to do with the championship. Gutted for him - not only did the rain negate his tyre advantage after qualifying on the super softs giving him a stronger tyre to begin the race on, the pit stop then the chain of virtual safety cars hamstringed him as well. Bottas just assumed the corner was his and did not bother to look for Kimi's car and the move was several seconds in play.
