Re: Massa : Clever changes - not danger.
I 2006 f1 cars generated their own weight in downforce at around 80mph, downforce more or less squares with speed so the idea that todays cars couldn't produce the downforce needed to more than equal its weight at 200mph now is obviously way out.

Re: Massa : Clever changes - not danger.
What he said proved that the Lemans was faster through the corners. I don't care if it is faster in one lap. Obviously the hybrid F1 is faster in a straight line , but to me it's unfathomable that a Lemans driver would complain about grip in an F1 car. As far as I can see the highest Spa trap speed...

Re: Official Top Gear thread [MERGED]
Old Top Gear is not new Top Gear. Other than the name and the fact they are about cars the two shows share nothing , and we would not be getting the reaction if PunchGate had happened on old Top Gear. Saying that Clarkson was unknown when he started doing Top Gear back in the 1980s is just being pe...

I assumed he was talking about that old bugbear of pay drivers, although admittedly if so talking about getting paid is a bit odd. One other possibility I suppose would be that he's talking about drivers like Kimi, Button or Massa, who have had their success in F1 and are now really just sticking a...

Re: Why I am seriously considering turning off F1
Given the fittest levels in f1 today compared to Nigel's when he was racing the “We had to do physical training just to be able to hang on to the car, now drivers can drive with a couple of fingers.” bit is quite funny.

Re: Why I am seriously considering turning off F1
Do you have a switch that lets you turn off F1? Do all the cars just coast to a halt on the track or does your switch also shutdown the factories, cause the lights in the hospitality to go out, the transporters to coast to a stop? You should probably make sure there are no F1 transport aircraft in t...

Re: Dual exhausts in 2016?
This option is simple and not a gimmick. They are simply dumping the wastegate into it's own exhaust, rather than routing the wastegate into the exhaust as it is done now, and on road cars. Road car owners with a turbo car can choose to vent the wastegate to open air. Anyone who has driven a car wi...

Yes. For good reason. The damage the Blair administration did is what the Tories have spent the last 5 years trying to fix!
