Re: Vettel- "The cars are not loud enough" (New exhaust)
I wonder if they would sound better if they increased the RPMs. Back around 20k or so yes, but that kind of defeats the object of a turbo? I dont see how a higher revving engine defeats a turbo. More rev's equals more exhaust which equals more turbine energy which equals more power to the wheels. B...

HS Thompson, I'm curious. Your daughter couldn't have coped with the louder engines, by your own admission. Yet you want to tell us all that the louder engines aren't a problem for people's hearing and comfort? You can't have it both ways. My daughter isnt interested in attending any more races. Sh...

Yep very much, however over the course of the season I wouldn't say it was dominant over the Red Bull car. It's debatable whether it was even quicker than the Red Bull over the season. Any talk of the Mclaren being dominant in 2012 is delusional. Not taking into account reliability, just pure speed...

James Hunt's per f1 career was nothing very special. I think he had won one French f3 race win and his best championship finish was 6th in the 1970 British F3 championship. He was fast and everyone knew it but a mix of pretty average cars and frequent collisions didn't make for great results.

Pretty sure it's really about their using an axial flow compressor as opposed to the centrifugal compressors that everyone else is using. Lewis and Nico might have drives elsewhere and if had got a Ferrari drive in Kimi's place that might be quite interesting. Also if Mercedes had no works team so provided more support to a customer team like Williams so they could be close to Ferrari.

WEC cars have closed wheels because they're GT cars, Grand Tourers have enclosed wheels because they're meant to be based on road cars. IT is pretty much meaningless when it comes to single season records. Percentages allow very accurate comparisons between seasons. For example: Only one man has won more than 6 races in a season with 11 races or less. Jim Clark who won 7/10 races in 1963. Hamilton's current record of 90% pole posit...
