Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
I should imagine Lewis is hoping he won't beat Valtteri by much! Only if he beats both Valtteri and Max soundly. If Valtteri has another mediocre race, trouncing him won't mean much. Gapping the whole field would be very impressive and would get Lewis' attention. Still I think Lewis would welcome h...

Re: Official Valtteri Bottas Thread
Valtteri's last four finishes have been: Second, Second, Fourteenth, and Eighth. The question is which Valtteri will show up this weekend? Will he take Lewis's regular place on the top step of the podium or muck about in mid-field?
He has the car to take the victory but will he???

This year Charles is dominating Sebastian three to one. (98-33 currently) I expect Carlos to be a lot closer to Charles next year. He will need some time to adjust to the new car and to a whole new team. Ferrari strategic decisions next year will also favor Charles as the number 1 driver. As we all...

I have to wonder about the fire marshal hosing down the pavement before turning the hose on Grosjean's car. It occurs to me that Romain was on the same side of the barrier that the fire marshal was on. He may not have wanted to turn the force of the hose on Romain as he was getting out of the cockpi...

What people fail to realise here is the Mercedes engine is the engine to have irrespective of what Ferrari did last year. Even with Ferrari engine power upgrade, Mercedes basically pushed them home every race they won. Not one race did Ferrari push Mercedes home, that tells you the power of the eng...

If Grosjean races just in the final race this year, I would find that amazing. That incident barely looked survivable. From the first pictures we saw (which they rightly didn't instantly show), just seeing the back of the car with the cockpit missing and a heap of flames in a broken barrier make me...

So is (was) this Bottas' last chance for the WDC? Or will Mercedes just create another behemoth and destroy RBR again, giving Bottas another slim chance at a title? The FIA may have to reconsider the use of unprotected Armco barrier at race tracks. Both with the death of Francois Cervert and today it was a hazard to the driver. This seems a fair comparison to the Senna/Schumacher battles. In that case Senna was generally in the inferior car though not at all past the peak of his powers. One off races have always seemed to me to be a bit more interesting. The European & Pacific Grands Prix as well as other one offs would be a good addition to the schedule. Limit it to one or two races per year though.

I think Hill retiring in Adelaide '94 was also monumental - not just because of the fact it cost Hill a title, but also essentially set the path for Hill's Williams exit. I think a WDC Hill would have made him less error prone in 95, with greater confidence, and even if he had still lost (which I s...

The second DRS zone starting upstream of turn 11 and going all the way to turn 12 ought to make passing easier than most tracks. Front straight DRS will help also.
