Re: Penalty points for errant drivers starting 2014
Can anyone seriously imagine these penalties being awarded even handedly between the top drivers and the back markers? Really... I don't think so. I really can't imagine the stewards having the balls to stymie a final race showdown if it came to it, or even taking any of the title contenders out of ...

Are the engine manufacturers going to be free to develop these engines or will they be frozen from the start of the season? It may be a silly question, I just haven't heard it mentioned. I don't understand how Red Bull think they can replicate the test/circumstances. Crucially Merc had some sort of nod from Whiting, without that they would have been screwed. How does Horner think he's going to get that exactly?

Re: International Tribunal. discussion and aftermath thread.
It would be interesting to hear the discussions between Pirelli and the FIA now. If the FIA are saying they are going to clamp down on testing even further and that even a two year old car is not necessarily okay. How are Pirelli supposed to test the tyres at all? Perhaps they can stick them on an o...

Compulsory tyre usage and pitstiops? Just let teams race and stop however often or as few times as they like. I could not agree more POB. Fangio's greatest drive, and one of all time was when he went to a tire change strategy, unique on that day. He made a strategy call based on his estimate, while...

Re: Holding positions after final pit stop: reasonable deman
Does it not rather suggest that the best strategy would be to use the best tyres first and worry about fuel later? If everybody is cruising after their final stop then there's little point in saving anything for the last stint... seems like it to me anyway. The only way to rid ourselves of this prob...

Usually these sort of situations make you think one thing and then another happens. Right now, if I was Martin Whitmarsh I would be thinking, offer Lewis a new contract on the same money as Button, call his bluff, he's got nowhere to go. But you just know this won't happen, and soon Lewis will have ...

That's always been the case.... the annoying thing about those kind of situations is that some drivers feel/get told to stay out of the fight, which is wrong. They should drive as normal. As the fragility of the wings go, why does F1 always have to take a difficult solution to a problem? People mock Indy for their 'simple ways', but sometimes I think it wouldn't hurt to take a look at their common sense approach. They wanted to limit the air intake so they gave everyone a mandatory l...

The 2-3 teams and 3-5 Drivers (at most) fighting for the top places is the F1 is all many people know, but that doesn't necessarily make it the was it should be. All teams have the same tyres and the same opportunity to learn how they handle and develop their cars to suit them. Formula 1 has the most advanced research, data gathering and simulation technology out...

I think the early 80's was the best racing I have seen, and i think this is a close second. Some drivers take ages to get past, some don't, isn't that the whole point?
