Re: 2023 Dutch Grand Prix Race Thread
From the onboard that didn't look great from Verstappen on Gasly. I know he had a lot more pace, but I thought you had to leave space. Cynical brain says it won't even be looked at because of the drivers and the race situation though...

Re: Red Bull's Checo Conundrum
They don't even need a second driver anymore. ... They might next season though. why, whats going to change next season New cars? This is the first season where the current Red Bull-Verstappen combination has made the 2nd driver's performance moot regarding the constructors. It's weird to think tha...

Re: 2023 Belgian Grand Prix Race Thread
In some ways losing that much time to Max with them both on in clear air on the same strategy is worse for Perez. A bad as failing in qualifying is it at least gives some mitigation for the race.

Re: 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread
Russell should be driver of th day over Perez for me With the other car having 33 seconds on the field, anything less than 2nd from pretty much anywhere on the grid probably doesn't really warrant driver of the day. Obviously impossible to tell, but I reckon Max might have won starting from the back.

Re: 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread
I'm not sure Perez has the best overtaking technique. Lots of risk in a much faster car. Compare with Alonso setting up Bottas into turn one with no view to actually getting past, just getting a much better run and driving past in the 2nd DRS zone.

Re: 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread
Absolutely stupid from Ferrari if they aren't shouting for Leclerc to let Sainz by. What's the point of that strategy if you're going to hold him up? Because it'sa Ferrari. They do things beyond our understanding. It seems like maybe they only expected the soft to be faster than the medium for a fe...

Props to McLaren for judging that tyre call correctly, proved us wrong... still don't understand it though - how are the softs working so badly when Russell just did 30 laps on them I think there wasn't a big delta between tyres so what worked well for each car was important. They probably knew fro...

What lap will we have a red flag/SC for protesters then? I suspect there will be some dubious policing with the names and faces of anyone who has participated or attend a Just Stop Oil event. Most will be arrested before lights out for 'breach of the peace' then de-arrested and released. They seem ...

Did Piastri not have the upgrades? I thought it was confirmed that he did this weekend. First I've heard that is this thread. But if Piastri didn't that is performance of the season. He's really growing on me and excellent to see McLaren do well. Could turn out to be the best combination of drivers...

Re: 2023 British Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
I reckon that'll probably be it unless it's a long Red Flag. 3 minutes probably not enough time to get the track as good as it was.
They really don't mind having that Red Bull sat there for a long time.

Aston Martin are protesting the race result. No word for what reason yet. More track limits drama? Re: 2023 Austrian Grand Prix FP & Qualy/Sprint Thread
I'm watching F1 for more than 25 years, I always thought track limits is a very silly thing. On some tracks (like this one) it really comes down to lottery. You literally cannot predict milimmetrically where you put your car at that speed. Is an unnecesarry struggle for the stewards, the audience a...
