Re: New Alonso Interview: Moving On?

All that is mentioned in terms of the cars not being driven at their limits are the tyres. It's a bit of a stretch to conclude that, because the drivers have to be ultra-cautious over the tyres, the cars themselves are the worst in F1 history. The entire article was not translated into English. I d...

New Alonso Interview: Moving On?

Fernando Alonso was interviewed by an Italian racing magazine with tidbits now appearing translated into English. He is clearly very unhappy with Formula One now, an opinion that he has expressed before but now is considering leaving F1 for either Lemans or for Indy Cars. The idea of an Alonso still...

"Longbow Finance" doesn't scream "we're serious about racing" to me. But if it keeps the team afloat until a wealthy petrolhead comes along to buy it then great. The Sauber name has been on the grid a very long time, it would be a massive shame to ever see it go Massive shame? Talk about overstatem...

Sorry but I disagree. Monisha is one of the biggest reasons Sauber is still around. She has been working diligently since before most people ever heard of her and was for many years Peter's right hand. She is a very intelligent person and it is because of her this deal was reached, which on paper h...

Absolutely. It's amazing that she's being kept on. I have to believe that there is a search underway to replace her ineffective and disastrous "leadership".

Comparing drivers from different eras is fraught with difficulty, but this is beyond ridiculous. Would Mansell cope with the modern cars? Maybe not, would Hamilton cope with the old cars, probably... but then how many times do we hear modern F1 drivers who have a go in an old car and say how fright...

Re: Cheese tyres scrapped for 2017

This is a common fallacy. It wasn't because of the tyres. It was because the cars were extremely aero-sensitive which made following the car in front very tricky. Instead of tackling the problem they decided to do a workaround by introducing comedy tyres which meant cars had a large performance dif...
