Re: Drivers opinions on V8 v V10 era cars
the V10 3.0l were pushing out about 1000BHP. When they went down to the V8 2.4l they were quickly at 750BHP and I recall Cosworth were the first engine supplier to break into the 20,000RPM category Q: Anyone have an idea what BHP levels the V8 2.4l would have been pushing out now, if all the restri...

Re: Jaguar XKR. Need advice before buying
I think I must be the only one who likes the newer XKR shape. The old one looked more like the XK8, which I can't say I'm a big fan of, looks wise. The newer XKR is my more realistic car ambition, second hand unfortunately my first name isn't 'Sheikh'. Hopefully one day I can get a second hand DB9 ...

I'm guessing he is asking what lap time differencial can be defended by a good driver. eg if the chasing driver is a second a lap faster then it is indefensible but a good driver could protect their lead over someone possible .2 or .3 sec per lap faster. It's a difficult one to answer because it de...

I have heard people talk about the current engines having a serious lack of torque compared to previous engines. I remember when the V8 era was first introduced the STR had to run a V10 with a limiter to make it fair, so you'd have to assume that the engine itself is slower and an improvement in th...

yeah great season and good times in F1. The cars were more wild than now and the engines were without stupid technical constraints and a rev limit.
Good these drivers are still around and Im sure its going to be a good year this year.

V10s all the way. I was at Silverstone around 2002 and the V10s were racing 3.0litres. The sound was pure joy and adrenalin fuelled. The V8s still scream but compared to the V10s, well they dont compare. I was at a Superleague Formula race a few years ago and they have V12s with 4.6 litre or somethi...
