Re: 2020 Turkish Grand Prix Race Thread

Vettel yeah! I'm more and more inclined to call Hamilton the GOAT now he just hits all the marks, he's excellent in every aspect at this point, it's too much. I wasn't expecting to say this so soon after Schumacher stopped. I thought Schumacher was way more complete early on, but what Ham has is tha...

Re: 2020 Turkish Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Verstappen vs rest of the world Lance Stroll says hold my beer. it was most of the session(s) Stroll came at the end and stole it. On a drying track I would never take anything for granted. he was constantly 2-3 sec in front (amazing in this era) of the field most of the time, with same conditions ...

Albon does have a point, you don't really get faster by going over kerbs, lose a lot of traction.
But you exceed the white line with 10 cm which is silly IMO.

Re: 2020 Portugal Grand Prix Race Thread

This DRS is crazy. I don't remember seeing such a speed difference before. It's like watching LMP1 cars against GTAm. This track could've been fine without DRS. The full throttle section (coming out of T14) is extremely long and its a lot of gain solely from slipstream. Overall beautiful track, goo...

He could have to fight Leclerc for P3. The latter is doing an amazing job.

Stroll again with that turning in T1 as no one was there. You must have been pretty oblivious to not notice Norris hit him. It is like sayign Verstappen didn't hit Perez and Perez spun on his own. Hit him in the sense that...he was there on inside, he couldn't disappear. When you make a move on out...

Re: 2020 Portugal Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Has anyone be bothered about the close frame that sometimes the cameramen are filming the cars on track? Almost the whole screen is filled with the car, you cannot see clearly the rest, the line in the corner, the whole position of the car, its behaviour. It's an old issue and don't understand why t...

Re: 2020 Portugal Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Its all reducing to 'cooperation', at a situation which is often seen in practice, they didn't cooperate. For the alongside situation, it was just not the tip of the car, he was going half the straight with half the car alongside, now its common sense to leave -some- room. The point is both have the...

Re: 2020 Portugal Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

At list 50% he was. And it was a close trailing for the whole straight line, Stroll should've been aware of him, especially if getting closer to the corner Max goes on inside (so disappearing from mirrors). Max couldn't assume that, doing 1 single hot lap is very common. It was easier to assume that...

Re: 2020 Portugal Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Doesn't matter if Stroll would've made another fast lap, you have a car 80% alongside, you should leave some space. It is a common situation in races and the car on the exterior it leaves space usually. Anyway it should've been more cooperation for both of them. Not its silly for both of them to be ...

That's what racing should be, you push, test the limits and sometimes make mistakes. Not just procedural driving, 'staying in the right frame', drive like robots.

a lot of drivers locking up and making mistakes. Vettel, Bottas and Kimi that's what a classic track makes. Sinuous corners with various radius, elevation changes...A lot to play with, gain or lose. Also more ways to overtake. Now they make tracks with long straights and 90 degrees corners, which a...

Bold prediction.....
Mercedes crash into each other on the restart
Ricciardo wins. Russell gets first points.
That's actually quite probable, I feel Bottas really wants to do something agressive to not settle up again in p2.
