Re: The Official Gaming Thread
I've struggled to get into Fallout 4. A large part of that is that the UI is clunky as hell on PC with M + K. Especially the base building which is pretty much mandatory because of the need for weapon upgrades. The first person view is just not very good for that, would have preferred a top-down vie...

Re: McLaren lose another sponsor
True, the reliability is very poor. But the majority of that is due to poor cooling off the ERS storage and motors and the turbo. Added to that the turbo working harder is only exaserbating the situation. The root cause behind that is basically the size zero demands placed into the engine by McLare...

Re: Bbc dropping red button and making sports cuts.
I think this whole thing a merely a symptom of the changing way people consume media. The BBC are feeling the pinch now, because they are not able to make such large profits off their consumer base, but the Sky's and BT's of this world will also feel it in a decade or so as their consumer base ages ...

I think the issues comes back to simple percentages: of all the young boys (and girls) who go karting, only a small percentage are good enough end up in F1. And if women are a only a smaller percentage of the people who start young, then statistics say that the probability of a woman ending up in F...

This is for (fighter) aircraft; where the G-forces work from top to bottom (or bottom to top in negative G conditions). But in motor racing the G works laterally (in corners) and fore-and-aft in accelerating and braking. I'm not at all sure G gives women an advantage in motor racing. A good point, ...

Re: Vettel cutting the track everywhere after 1st lap punctu
To answer the question - no it was not strictly legal according to the sporting regulations, however it was clearly the correct thing to do to avoid shedding debris all over the race track that would have likely called out a safety car. Vettel is not the only one to do this kind of thing with a punc...

I do wish Lewis would be a bit more tactful at times. I think that is prehaps the more telling part. I have no facts o...

Or they could just enforce the rules, you know, like a governing body is supposed to? Or, as stated before, bring back gravel traps. You'll be amazed how suddenly they can all keep to the track limits then.

It sucks from a sporting point of view, but I understand why they did it. Again, F1 is more business than sport, and in the capitalist world we (generally) live in, the free market is king. That means that no-one can dictate prices (unless your in one of the rare communist states) and the value is w...

I may be wrong but I thought the bbw was for rear brakes only. The pedel pressure applied by the driver to the front brakes is sent to the rear brakes as a signal by bbw. Not quite. Both the front and rear brakes are still hydraulically connected to the brake pedal. This article here explains it re...

I think they are both missing a big point here - technology does not simply undo itself without a reason. You could try and go back to a "simpler" formula with things like manual boxes etc, but would any team (not just the car manufactures) actually go for it? The technology stuff imo is a red herri...
