Re: Leclerc confirmed at Ferrari; Kimi returning to Sauber

I wonder if Leclerc will out perform vettel like Riccardo did and force him out. Very interesting, potential to be the most interesting move since ham to merc, if not more so I can't help but think that Ricciardo has got screwed in all of this. He deserves to be in a top seat. He hasn't got screwed...

Re: 2018 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread

The bit I don't understand is even though Kimi was losing time behind Bottas, shouldn't he have been conserving some tyre life? Hamilton took five seconds out of him in three laps in that time, and then there were a couple more laps where Bottas was ahead before he pit. After Bottas pit Kimi in theo...

So the gap between Hamilton and Vettel after his pit stop were as follows: Lap 43 - 23.719 Lap 44 - 22.892 Lap 45 - 20.892 Lap 46 - 19.578 Lap 47 - 17.153 Lap 48 - 15.812 Lap 49 - 14.430 Lap 50 - 12.176 Lap 51 - 12.164 (hes 2 sec behind Kimi at this point) Were it one or two laps you could put it d...

Merc haven’t learned anything from their strategy flaps. They got lucky today with a 1-2. Bottas stop was a shambles as well. Decision making is so haphazard. Having watched the replays countless times now, I really can't understand why Ricciardo is accepting any of the blame. If you take a step back and take a look at the context of the race they were fighting for 4th and 5th with no hope of catching the cars in front unless a Safety car. There was real...

Re: Verstappen the new crash kid?

The frequency of Max's incidents are getting crazy, but I'm surprised how hard Danny Ric fights this guy. Other drivers like Hamilton/Vettel take a very defensive approach. Hamilton almost moves out of Verstappen's way when he is anywhere near him - almost as if he thinks Max is a lighted stick of d...

I know overtaking is hard on this track but that race was very much line-a-sturn. Ferrari and Merc off to a good start. Did Verstappen really have a issue with his diffuser or was that spin because of pushing too hard? I think the latter. Ricciardo should be in the Ferrari next year. The midfield ba...

I'm curious to see how they are going to do the pricing. If it's month to month I'll start in March and close it in November. I'm sure they'll force us to pay for it in a 1 year plan all up front or have some discount to make it worth it.

NBC dropped F1 because they couldn't get exclusive rights, and ESPN stepped in - so I guess ESPN isn't getting exclusive rights either. If that's the case then the US market should be seeing some over the top subscription or races streaming through youtube in the very near future.

Honestly, some of the stuff in this thread... Lewis is a great driver. But he is not the reason Mercedes is such a strong team, and his absence is not the reason McLaren have lost the way. Drivers simply do not have that sort of effect on the car anymore, if indeed they ever did. Sure, but engineer...
