Watched highlights they messed up q2 a bit and both drivers had to come out in the end to save elimination that cost only one try in q3. Renault were much more safer with Raik in P1 at q2. As far as my memory goes the tyre degradation issue has been there on all pre season practice and even from last year there seems to be no genuine solution yet. I do not see them coming up with any miracle for tire issues in Malaysia. It's a long standing issue.

If it rains all thru the weekend then Mercedes can actually get P1 and P2 using the DRS in wet conditions and then hopefully Mercedes can outshine Mclaren with the lead because I think Mclarens consistency would not be much of a difference in wet conditions.
