Re: Should we be surprised by Kimi's great return?
So when Kimi has a bad car he finishes lower in the WDC. When he has a very good car he finishes near the top of the WDC. Are we supposed to be surprised by this nugget of info? Because the same goes for every driver. Does it now? Massa has a very good car and is tenth ;) I wouldn't call the Ferrar...

Re: Lotus F1 is still a Mid-field Team?
I read interview of Mr. Mallya, he still thinks Lotus as mid field team. I don't think that, they definitely raised their game and now they are top team. They have definetely raised their game this year but we have to see how they will be next year... It looks though that they intend to stay on top...

Oskari Saari (Finnish F1 commentator without any personal motor sport experience) tests Webber's 2004 Jaguar. Not sure if it's available outside Finland? http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/f1/uutiset.shtml/2012/09/1615827/oskari-saari-testasi-f1-autoa---mika-salo-pyoritteli-paataan It looks like it's not a...

Re: Where do you rate Jenson Button
What, without physically destroying his main competition by crushing them in the wall. If that pass was completed, it would have been one of the top 10 passes in F1. What? :? Button took a crap line round the corner for what ever reason in slippery conditions and was therefore late getting on the t...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
About Singapore: I don't know why i'm optimistic but i believe that Raikkonen will be fighting for the win with Vettel plus I believe Alonso won't be in top5. I also expect Grosjean to have a great race and finish in top 5 or even on podium. Something that will probably help even more Raikkonen... T...

Re: Where do you rate Jenson Button
I believe that the good solid driver category is for drivers like Kobayashi, Rosberg, Kovalainen and Di Resta seems to get in this category too. Probably even Webber is in this one as well. Button is definitely top class but he just seems to be the lower ranked driver in this category (Lewis, Alonso...

Re: Team mate wars: Mercedes.
It is 7-6 in Rosberg's favour. Schumacher has closed the gap in last few races. Schumacher had a gearbox penalty plus DRS problems twice while Nico had 2 gearbox penalties. Apart from Caterham and Ferrari who seem to have a better race start setup system, Schumacher is the only other driver that usu...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
It's understandable that EB always talks about Grosjean since he is his manager. He aims to make Grosjean the no1 in the team in the next 2-3 years depending Raikkonen's decisions. I believe that Grosjean is probably trying make his driving style similar to Raikkonen's. Something EB probably wants t...

Re: Team mate wars: Mercedes.
This year Mercedes is probably 3rd in raw speed behind Red bull and Mclaren. In qualifying where this speed is shown Rosberg does better then Schumi and it shows that age can take one or two hundreds of a second out of the driver. But when Sunday comes Mercedes is crap and usually is like 5th,6th or...

Re: Engines and Gearboxes
Thank you very much! Really interesting the fact that both Button and Hamilton used their 7th engine of the season. One more left and then it's 10 place grid drop penalty for them... Alonso on the other hand just used his 6th. Seems like everything is going well for him.

Engines and Gearboxes
Could someone please provide me a list with all the gearbox changes and list of the engines used by each driver? It would be really nice to see how many units each drive has available for the rest of the championship.
Thanks in advance!

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
Kimi will qualify 3rd or 4th I think As usual And sadly it is his place... If only it was. I read that prior to Spa his average qualifying position was 8th. Before spa his average was 8,36. After spa it dropped down to 7,91 Here are his qualifying results of the season Australia 17th Malaysia 10th ...

Re: Hamilton leaving Macca for Mercedes!
Trade Hamilton for Rosberg! mix it up a bit. Who was the last German to driver for McLaren, Nico's Dad? I think Raikkonen could be a target if Hamilton leaves (although I don't believe at this point that he'll leave). Wurz raced a 2 of races for them in 2005 or 2006... About Raikkonen as much as i ...

Yes, it is pure coincidence. What do you think that Button, Grosjean, Boullier and Whitmarsh decide to take them out so that button had no opponent for the race???

Re: Where do you rank the current top drivers?
Alonso Raikkonen/Hamilton/Vettel Webber Button Alonso is the best overall and has no serious weakness. (Good qualifier, good overtaker, good strategist and Great in race starts) Raikkonen is 2nd only higher than Hamilton and Vettel because of his consistency (a bit weak in qualifying but he seems to...

Re: It's over for Hamilton
IMHO Hamilton is still a championship contender. Even Button is... Hamilton has the best car on the grid at the moment, Button has the momentum going which is good for Hamilton as Button is going to cut off points from the other contenders like he did in Spa (7 points for Vettel, 3 for Raikkonen and...

Re: Lotus High Downforce Setup
It was lotus going for a high downforce setup. As Raikkonen said the tyre's temperature was lower than the operating window and so they had to go with high downforce in order to help them bring heat to the tyres. Also during the race raikkonen still struggled to find grip so during the first pit-sto...

Re: Son of quiz thread
I've got one! Coulthard, Irvine, Fisichella, Button What do they have in common? :-P Hope this isn't too easy. Winning first race of the season but not the WDC? DC in 98, Irvine in 99, Fisichella in 2005 and Button in 2011? I think it also might be winning the first race and coming second in the WD...
