Re: 2018 Australia Grand Prix Race Thread

I was under the impression that the drivers have "the earliest time of arrival" displayed on their steering wheel and updated not only on the 3 sector times, but continuously in real time by GPS (edit: basically, you cant just "floor" it at maximum speed for the 90% of a certain sector and then tak...

Re: Planet F1 Team-mate wars: Can someone explain Vet-Kimi?

A kind of explanation could perhaps be found in this short, unqualified statement:

Raikkonen’s pace showed that had both Ferraris been up to speed

Kimi's car was not up to Vettel's car's speed?

I have to say, despite any feelings I have for Trump, a lot of the American left leaning media, organisations and and public figures are actually becoming more of a laughing stock trying to show up Trump than Trump is himself now! You may want to actually read the Koran, then you could do sarcasm. Re: FIA answer to Vettel breaking 22.5 Rule (steering wheel)

I think people are missing the point here. My concern is not so much that Vettel didn't adhere to the rule about leaving the steering wheel in place - I agree that common sense dictates that there was no benefit to leaving it in place when the car was not manoeuvrable - it's more about why he felt ...

Even if some people want to refuse to exercise any common sense and just stick blindly to "the rule is the rule is the rule", it won't hold the water. I've watched F1 for 30 some odd years and have never seen a driver walk away with the steering wheel. Any driver who did not replace the wheel incurred a penalty. Further, the drivers at the end of the races ALWAYS have replaced the wheel. And how many of those were the situations of the car crashi...

But you are not having a shot from the fixed point! Yes, it is the point that is fixed to the moving car, but that creates the illusion of the point that the shot is being taken as being "fixed". Yes. Because he didn't look his mirrors and changed line, while Vettel followed the corner radius. You keep maintaining this. Isn't it clear on corner entry he was on the outside of the track, at impact he was near the middle of the track. We established the track did not narrow. Following the corn...
