Re: The Official Malaysia GP Qualifying Thread.

What's the difference between the two compounds meant to be at this track? According to the Lotus engineers, not very much at all...maybe 0.2 secs.. Anyway, the Aussies haven't lost out in quali vs their teammates so far this season: Webber 2 - Vettel 0 Ricciardo 2 - Vergne 0 Schumacher will be fig...

A top team is one that shows courage and continuity in the tough times. As in F1 there is always tough times at one point.

Re: Vettel starts the GP of Malaysia on primes

Webber has the better strategy from this.

He can get rid of the stint of options while in traffic and run the rest of the race on primes.

Vettel hasn't come close to his form this year so far but there is always the "will RBR focus on Webbers strategy" question.

Re: The Official Malaysia GP Qualifying Thread.

I find it funny how since the ban of the Blown Diffuser Webber has out qualified Vettel both times. This sort of shows me Vettel gained the most of the extra downforce through the corners. Drivers like Hamilton, Button, Webber and more can handle the car a lot better with it. Which is what a lot of...

Re: The Official Malaysia GP Qualifying Thread.

I don't thing RB had any real reason to send Vettels out on the harder tyre. I think Vettels made the choice because he knew he wasn't going to be on pole, so may aswel try something different and hope for the best. If the harder tyre really gave that much of an advantage in the race do you not thi...

Re: When will Red Bull quit F1

Red Bull have a huge infrastructure. They own 2 teams and have a very well funded young driver program. They also arn't exactly going poorly here. Webber particularly was by far the fastest of anyone including the McLarens on the prime tyre. They arn't the fastest, but they are a confident second fa...

The primes seemed faster on the Red Bull. Webbers time in Q1 was 0.2 seconds faster than his time in Q2 on options. Vettel doesn't seem to have any edge in Qualifying this year, not even over his team mate. You are also forgetting Vettel had already done a lap on the options, and he improved upon it...

Yep, Lewis will have to remove his erratic behavior if he wants to match Button. Raw pace isn't everything.

I think Jenson will help to improve Lewis as a driver, he has alot to learn about racing and someone who can beat him will do him some good. Lewis has never really encountered this before.

I think RB are easily capable of winning. (at least with Vettel). This is actually turning to be a determining race for many drivers. Lewis needs to win from pole today to start the season in fashionable way and get some much needed confidence.
