Can any of our US friends here help me? I'm arriving in Boston (from the UK) at the weekend so will need to be ready for 2am EST on Sunday... but what channel will I find it on? Re: Silly Season 2015 Uberthread [MERGED]
I think the wisest choice for Vettel in that circumstance would be to wait another season. If he followed Alonso immediately, he'd be directly comparable to him on the beloved teammate metric - only Raikkonen is almost certain to improve in 2015 over 2014 if what we hear about the car setup is true,...

Lotus want to have Mercedes engines next year but they don't have the money to pay for them as it stands. I thought the Mercedes engine was cheaper than the Renault? I'm sure I saw that near the start of the year somewhere. As for Alonso to McLaren, that one is either going to turn out to be the bi...

This isn't entirely directed at you even though I'm quoting you, but what is with the whole "McLaren cannot produce a good car"? I've noticed that too, and it bugs me. I know memories are short in F1, but it was only two years ago that the McLaren was the fastest car in the field, and until 2013 th...

Dam if this is true Mclaren is in alot of trouble next year. The car is nowhere as it is now with terrible aero but a very fast mercedes engine. Imagine a terrible engine down on power with high fuel consumption and the terrible aero they have now. Looks very bleak. Hopefully they can turn it aroun...

I never believed their engine would be that great anyway. Even if it was, McLaren have the fastest engine now and are doing nothing special with it. Honda F1 V6 Behind Schedule?
Has anyone else heard anything about this? I saw an article on grandprix.com (http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns29015.html) referencing to a rumor that the engine is badly behind schedule and using too much fuel at the moment, but I couldn't find anything supporting from other publications. If true, I s...

What some see as timidity or hesitation I see as racecraft. I'd just like you to explain this statement. I don't get it either. Or, well I do, but I don't agree. Good racecraft involves being clean and not getting into accidents, but it also involves, well... racing. Being good alone on an empty tr...

Re: Kevin Magnussen's next move
Unless they show him the door, I think anything other than staying right where he is would be a terrible career move. For Alonso it would be a gamble to join McLaren and hope the McLaren-Honda is world-beating, but for Magnussen he doesn't really lose anything if it's not and he gains a huge amount ...

Re: Would you rather have a pure f1 or a technology filled f
Technology. The technology is what (should be, at least) makes Formula 1 what it is. Although I'd be perfectly alright with also forming a GP1 series using for instance whatever chassis won the WCC 3 years ago as a spec body, and being all about pure racing talent. I don't think it's as true as some...

While that is true, that statistic is currently 85% Massa and only 15% Raikkonen. Everyone has their bad years, and I think it's too early to conclude from this season that every Raikkonen year will be just as poor.dogboy wrote:Nice fact...between 2010-2014

It might not be the next one, but I would be really surprised if there isn't a point for pole introduced within the next five years. A solitary point for pole made sense back when it was just 8 points for the win, but now you'd need it to be more to have any real impact. Otherwise it would be just ...

I think the part where it says 'only performance at the last 6 races is considered' is a bit misleading. I hate the double point rule, but I really can't see why everyone is saying any champion who wins by that system would be a 'phony champion' or some-such. Same thing for me, by definition: I want the one who deserves it most to win it. I see a point for pole in future. ... And the past, perhaps? Points for pole and fastest lap wouldn't be anything new to F1, they were original to the championship. Now that we have non fuel-adjusted qualifying I would have no problem with a point for pole, although it would probably need to be mor...

Is there some line between those who entered every round and those (like me) who haven't competed in the full season? I assume it's somewhere around the 1000 mark, but I'm not sure.

Problem is, Vettel is no Schumacher. Arguably no driver in the history of the sport had been as good as Schumacher. Different people has different views. I prefer a track that give at least give car a chance to overtake, or make a lunge.
