Re: Uh oh...what if the double points system actually WORKS?
I think the more revealing thing to note is that Hamilton is leading by only 17 points despite supposedly being the better driver, even with an extra retirement it's not a convincing gap. To put that gap in perspective, with Lewis' 3 DNFs and Rosberg's 2 DNFs the maximum possible gap that Lewis cou...

Re: Uh oh...what if the double points system actually WORKS?
Whatever happens I hope that the double points is not the deciding factor, but I don't agree that Hamilton is the better or more deserving driver. Of the four races that Rosberg has won, two of them were won after Hamilton made a mistake in qualifying, he might not be such a spectacle to watch but h...

I gave up reading it. I see nothing to suggest that the author has any more access or knowledge of F1 than any of us here on the forum, certainly he doesn't read as a journalist who attends races or has contacts within F1.

Re: Science fiction or Science fact.
I think that both Sci-Fi and Horror being called genres is a red herring as it implies that they are comparable under the same criteria, but they are actually independent of each other. At their most basic they are not connected, Sci-Fi is the concept and content of the plot, Horror is the way that ...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
It may be that they will only do this in part of Free Practice. Or maybe they might decide to split strategies by only using e.g. Kii's car as the 2015 development car and relying on Alonso to take the fight further. thinking about it though I can't imagine they will readily accept losing third pla...

I skimmed the whole thread, and checked the FIA and F1 official sites, I can't see an official press release for this with solid information in it anywhere, does anyone have this?
The whole thing seems too vague at this time, for example are simple things such as target lap times banned?

I've tried many and most different types (the biggest exception being custom made) and the standard E.A.R. Plugs are the most effective and most cost effective.

I think that the reason he is still around is simple, very few drivers have significant experience with different regulations. Only 5 other drivers have more experience. Only Rosberg, Massa and the WDCs bring more value to a team. That's probably worth a lot of money and so he may not need to bring ...

I don't understand this video. Comparing people to horses is wrong if we talk solely about employment. People without job won't have any money, they won't buy anything, so machines won't be doing anything, because nobody will pay for their work. Firstly technology didn't take any jobs. Between 1950...

It occurred to me that I couldn't think of anything for Alonso. Name most high profile drivers and I can think fairly quickly of a race (or track) where they achieved something special or noticeable, a headline making performance. In no particular order: Senna, Donnington 1993, Monaco, Spa... Schuma...

I'm not sure that we can take Hungary as any indication of Ferrari improving the car. That track is similar to Spa for him, only once has he finished the race off of the podium before this last one, and that was his first year in a McLaren and he was 4th then.

It seems to me that Ferrari are so afraid of failure, and have so many people interfering, and the whole team is too involved in the politics that they lack the strength of their convictions and don't take risks. The sport needs a sensible budget cap soon. These teams were promised one when they started. We've just had the top six including the desperate Lotus team voting against one. I hope that the German court ends soon, and that the FIA grow a pair and make it a competitive series.
