Re: Austin GP: Second place better than pole?!?
could you imagine a race were the following were taken out in the first corner Vettel, Webber, Hamilton, Button, Alonso, Massa, Raikonnen, Grosjean, Rosberg and Schumacher. I think i'd turn off after that. Also the tactic for the pole position is simply sweep across the track, force the 2nd place ma...

DRS limited to Normal Zones in Practice and Qualifying 2013
This is a really interesting change for next season and will possibly change the tactics some teams choose to run in the races. One team this would benefit in the current season is Ferrari as the current car as according to Gary Anderson their problem in qualifying is that air is taking to long to r...

Re: Crib sheet: How Vettel can win the title in Austin
What if Vettel doesn't finish? I read Button's thoughts on turn 1, seems quite a spot for someone like Perez, Maldonado or Grosjean to get excited and contentious and take a few cars out. If they qualify close to top 5, either Alonso or Vettel could get caught up in first lap incidents. Vettel is 1...

Yeah the race down to T1 is long, the front runners will have gotten away by then, and its up to the middle and rear packs to take it carefully - but i still expect a SC after the first lap.

Button yes - only gonna be 1 or 2 more seasons though before retirement beckons or he is moved on
Massa - No, not by a long shot.
Webber - No, I think he has maximised his potential at a championship and any of the other young drivers could bring in the same points for the wcc.

I think this year Hamilton has taken a giant leap in performance, I dont really have a take on Rosberg other than he is competent.
The first testing phase next year will give a much clearer picture, cant wait!!!!!!

My only opinion of this event was this If the rule was not clear, and then needed clairification it is not the same rule going back in place and should not yield a punishment until the new clarified rule is used at the next race. If you compare it to the clarification of the aero rules for Red Bull ...

I thought it was going to be an actual article, but its basically 1 statement from Jacque and the rest from Rosberg saying how he owned schumacher for 3 years.
Schumacher, Hamilton would be interesting to watch for a few races. Not for a season.

I think its probably worth starting a new thread based on points lost for the top 10 drivers at least, but we'd need to agree some ground rules on what is accepted as lost point situation, say for example poor Quali - should not be counted Quali Punishments - should be counted but only if not a dire...

All this says to me is Whitmarsh regrets it big time, maybe he's realised that his position is in jeopardy based on next years results and this is how he lets his frustration go.

Hamilton will definitely want to win the next 2 races to go out on a high, come on guys this is the sharp end of racing. Each one of any driver that could win would climb over the other guys chassis to do so!!! - with the exception of Webber who will be pitted or told to move out of the way

I personally feel the drivers tend to have more personality than the teams, i feel it is the drivers that draw fans to the sport and then to the team.
So id say from a fan base its much more significant than the WCC, but the WCC brings in the money

Re: Has anyone thought Hamilton might have been crowned a WD
I think these days the teams tend to design the car that will give them the greatest percentage of a chance of victory in the lab, excluding driver preference. It is then up to the driver to adapt his style to fully extract the capability of the car. If you think about it, designing a car to the str...

When the whole thing about the flexi wing popped up years ago, it was never the wind that did the majority of flexing it always seemed to come from the Nose. Not that I believe it but you can also ask the alternate question Is Hamilton sabotaging Mclaren? After all he is driving the car and by pressing the wrong buttons/switches he can easily cause a mechanical issue. That would explain more why he has more problems than Button. Yeah, i dont know why th...

and yes Mclaren are a joke, what is it now? the last 5 races, 4 have suffered mechanical failures. (I may be wrong on the numbers but im pretty sure there close)
